The one that sold for $430 on June 23 was not nearly as nice of a can. I think this one at $590 was fair. The people who are looking for $2,000 for this can better have something that is absolutely pristine. In today's market, this can is not achieving that price for whatever reason. For anyone who may be interested, I previously posted a picture of the June 23 can. Just scroll up a bit.

Prices on better Michigan cans were grossly inflated for a number of years, but a few key guys got out of the hobby and prices dropped.

I'll have to agree with both you & Marc, The $2k price on this offgrade can was ridiculous to start. And, a lot of Michigan Collectors who once paid big money for cans (sometimes myself included) have now dropped out of the Hobby or slowed down some. Certain people (wont mention any names) paying big money on these Michigan cans in the past grossly overinflated the Michigan can prices from realistic to unrealistic & some times absurd & insane. But I wonder who the new guys are paying $700+ on some of these Pfeiffer Scenic cans. even in the old days they never got that much? I remember around early to mid 2000's when Ted Larsen sold at least 2 mint 1+ white Patrick Henry's on ebay. One one week & the other the next week. Both times they got around $2,000 but they were mint 1+. what would they get nowadays? LEON.

Really, $700+ on Pfeiffer scenes? Were they real clean? Set cans have been popular for a long time, and they are very attractive. You know how it goes with collectibles - good stuff gets better over time, and mundane stuff gets more mundane.

Well, those were on the 3 of the toughest out of the set which always got more. But some of the more common ones that I said were $100-$150 cans & some others said more like $50 cans have gotten like $400 on ebay which is insane.

P.S. Link to old Pfeiffer post.

Yeah, eBay has been bonkers for the past few years. Half the stuff I put on my watch list shoots past my limit with days left to go, and I'm not talking about rare cans or real high grade stuff.

I paid around $1,370.00 for mine back in September 2018.
It’s a Dave Stark can.
I thought it was a fair price at the time, the $2,000 + price tags always seemed a little high to me.

While looking through Ebay offerings, I came upon this notice regarding returns. I'm guessing DNA is the next alternative for can identification.

"We mark all our items and you must send back our item with its mark on it, for a refund. We DO NOT do partial refunds. Please do not wipe item clean before you are happy, my thumb print has to be on the item for its refund."

I do not think it is a common problem but I have heard of sellers before who ran into a problem with a buyer and received a can back that was different than the one they sent. This seller probably got burned and it now taking steps to try to prevent it happening again. That's one advantage of going to a local show. The transaction is completed face to face. Unfortunately, attending a local show is not an option for everyone.

 WOW, Prices sure dropped on these. The first one to hit ebay got like $7,000+ about 10 years ago. I guess so many were found flooding the Market that now 10 years later all you can get is $1,700 :smt017 How many were found, A case, 5 Cases? Anybody know. LEON.

While everyone was watching the Breweriana.com auction this little baby sold on ebay.

I was watching it sitting at about $40.00 with 30 seconds to go and look where it ended up....$1030.00.

I've never seen a one sided Cremo before. There has to be some more out there. Everybody check your totes, you may have a great can sitting there.

Looks like the second highest bidder cost the winner about $800.

Winning bid: $1,030
Second high: $1,005 ($25 bid increment to $1,030)
Third high: $221.21

One bidder can make all the difference...

I was watching this one also, since like Jim, I have never seen the one sided variation and was really Jonesin’ on this can. Threw out what I thought was a respectable (if not stupid) bid and got left in the dust-not even close to the 2nd highest bidder. And no, I wasn’t the third highest either. I knew others were watching it but thought My bid would at least be in the hunt. Obviously an obscenely tough can (maybe unique) and two crowntainer specialists battled it out for bragging rights.

Wow, what a difference! I wonder what the high bidders top bid was? He certainly wanted it.

I picked up a can last year where I won the can more than $1k less than my max bid. Started asking myself if I just got a deal or was I completely insane for bidding so high. LOL!!

To answer your question I know Pete has one because I just sold him one. I know McCoy had one. There is a few indoor cans out there somewhere & I wonder what price a nice clean indoor would sell for? LEON.

I wonder when that one sold, could of been last year or 15 years ago. Although nice clean indoor can looked slightly off grade. I know certain collectors would not touch that because not clean enough for them. Thanks for the info. LEON.
