Well,I guess nobody know about old motor?? It worth a shot asking . The reason, I asked , because I attended a auction last weekend and there were selling a 66 Dodger Combin with a 426 cu in. Hemi motor. It original motor and it run !!! but it was build for racing around the track. I was shocked to see How much it went for.
I know some things about cars But not much on history especially How many Hemi motor were made in the 1966 ??

I can’t wait to catch this guy mowing his yard so I can talk to him, I’ve seen this car in local parades- now I know where it lives, right around the corner from my house. Bad pic- it’s a ‘bird. Ziphippie

hoover31- Well, it not sold for 200k . Actually it sold for 21k. I should have mention it sort of like a Old School race car. however Thank for sending information. I never realize only 468 Street Hemi were mad. So that probably reason why the price were up?? Other thing I should point out. it a 1966 Dodge Corenet (Not Combine :smt021 ) I notice that Hemi motor were on Dodge Charger and Plymouth Cuda. Here the photo of the motor.

SO,You want to know how many Hemi's were made in the 66 Coronet, I can tell you but would be much easier to know what kind of Coronet it was. They made 6 different versions of the 66 Coronet not counting 4 doors & Convertibles. They made 2 different type of Hemi cars back in the 60's lots of people are unaware of. They were the Super Stock Race Hemi & The Street Hemi. There can be a big difference in prices depending on which version Hemi Car you have. LEON. (aka hot air blower)

Well, that interesting. I never knew there were 6 different versions of 66 Coronet. The car I seen at the auction is 2 door. The body wasn't in good shape as it was use for dirt track racing. I assume it was racing in the 1970's ??? Yes, that true made 2 different type of Hemi. I wasn't quite sure which Hemi motor was it. To me I thought it was Street Hemi ( Not many were made) . Racing Hemi -
I think at one time used in NASCAR but mostly for drag race ( hot air blower)

It looks pretty beat up POS. BUT, If it was a legit & real #'s matching Hemi Car then the price seems fair if not cheap. Only Problem with a car like that is it usually will cost more to restore it Properly then it's worth. Many Hemi Cars, the much rarer ones are getting a Million $$ & the super Rare 71 Hemi Cuda Convertibles getting much more, Many Millions. Actor David Spade spent a Million $$ on a Hemi Superbird or Daytona a couple of years ago. LEON.

Yes, I'm familiar with that car & Auction. There was only 7 of these made or made for USA. 5 Automatics & 2 4 Speeds. Not counting the 2 Canadians & 2 Exports. LEON.

I heard about that Plymouth Cuda. Yeah, I know Leon. The car body is badly beating remember it was used for dirt track racing. The only reason that guy brought that car is because of the motor. He may already have the 66 Coronet. Take the motor out of old race car. and put in the other car, but the question will be remain. Is it a Racing Hemi or Street Hemi motor.?? That I don't know. Yeah, I understand , if motor vin number match with body number it would have been worth more but not compare to Plymouth Cuda or other rare car.
