Re: Storz Winterbru
Several years ago I thought this can was over rated as a 1000+ by the USBC book as some were out there and you could get one for good price and not break the bank....Now you never see one...Seems to me way over priced but still a cool can.

Re: Storz Winterbru
I remember in the old days seeing them around every once in a while, seen so many I thought the $1,000 book price was to much. Think I even had one before & I think I remember my buddy Marc having one maybe 2 different ones. I think theres 3 different variation on this can. I might of got mine from Marc or maybe I sold it for him on ebay, Can't remember. Anyways back then you could pick them up much cheaper then this guy wants. LEON.

Re: Storz Winterbru
This is an interesting can. Being pre war (1930's) and non OI w/3 var. you would think a long run like 5+ yrs or so. I think more like 2 yrs like around 1937-1938 and then brought back in the 1950's in the white flat.
I am not sure If one var. is tuffer than the others but a question still sticks in my mind was WHY 3 var. in such a short span? Maybe a longer run than I thought.
Maybe storzman or Dr Benbow could inform us on my lack of info....

This Ad is from 1936, I think the cans came out in 1936 also. LEON.

Re: Storz Winterbru
Several yrs ago Vince (the bad guy) found about 12 Winterbru flats in a dump in Wyoming that came out so clean that was probably grade 1-minus or 2 plus.....I tried to aquire one but they sold/trade so fast that I was to late..
Not heard of another find like this since.....Still a tuff can.

Re: Storz Winterbru
We have moved couple of these in the past few years. Both sold almost immediately In the $7500 - $8500 range. Never seen one break the $10k barrier. There are a fair number of these tied up in collection in this condition or better, not sure how many of each exist. It is just one of those graphic/desirable cans that seem to hold their value even with quantity.

Thanks for the input. That is a surprise considering the availability. LEON.

Re: Storz Winterbru
The fact there are 3 variations makes them less valuable to most, although each one is individually scarcer. Brent may know but perhaps they only each were made for one winter season over 3 years - I would think 1937, 38, 39? The middle one is the rarest in my opinion, Seems I see this one which is the first one most often in collections or for sale.
Collector of Nebraska cans and breweriana, Colorado cans, tall straight steel US cans, and cans I like!

Re: Storz Winterbru
Storzman, in this older post you say your Winterbru has a 1936 Copyright date. Could this can maybe came out in the winter of late 36-early 37? LEON.
