A New Cool Way To Photograph Cans
So, I am blessed that my three sons are all tech wizards (one of them designs Call of Duty, so you know what I mean). One of them got the idea that there might be a way to photograph cans in a fashion where the entire can could be seen in a rotational field. So he got with some company who had the technology and sure enough, they came up with something pretty cool. The three links below will show you what I mean.
One drawback - my son spent some time with eBay trying to figure out if eBay's tech platform would support such a presentation. For the moment, it will not. But regardless, pretty cool stuff I think. Matt

Re: A New Cool Way To Photograph Cans
That's Cool. BUT, You can still do it the old fashion way where you'd just roll the can on the scanner as the scanner moved. That old less tech method would show all sides of the can in one picture. LEON.

Crazy to think of the technology that could be possible!

Re: A New Cool Way To Photograph Cans
$750 for the scanner. That’s a little steep. Great idea though.

We'll need totes!

Re: A New Cool Way To Photograph Cans
Very cool... wondering how much time from having can in hand and being ready to start to when it is ready for primetime presentation?

Re: A New Cool Way To Photograph Cans
Yup, cool.
I have seen something similar done with just a couple of pictures and actually programming the rotation in code.
One of my collector friends developed this about 9-10 years ago here: https://www.cokecollection.com/index.ph ... &pageid=64

Re: A New Cool Way To Photograph Cans
This is amazeballs! From the replies here it sounds like some folks are viewing this on flip phones or something.
Touch the can and flip it all around. You can tumble the can in any direction. If you're not seeing the lids you're missing 90% of the awesome.

Re: A New Cool Way To Photograph Cans
Very cool technology. Maybe one day it'll be available for the masses at a reasonable price. FYI, It does show the top and bottom of the can if you grab the image and move your cursor around 360.
Thanks. Dave
