As mentioned I above, Fob's is good. But when it comes to Pizza, My favorite pizza place in the whole wide world is Riverside Pizza, in Iron River, Michigan. Nothing, i.m.o. comes close. And the Blatz corner sign is very cool as well. Too bad it's 12 hours away.

Re: YOOPER AHO'S 2018 FALL DUMPFEST
Greg,
We would vacation up there on average 2-3 times a year. Usually spring for our Anniversary, then in fall for the colors and in November for hunting season. Usually rented the cottage for a week. We'd get there late afternoon after driving 10 hours. Unpack. Into Iron River for a pizza for dinner. Then one day mid-week, another pizza. and because we were leaving early Saturday morning, we'd either get the Fish Fry or that last pizza on Friday night.
Used to be a bus station in the center of town. Guy running the grill was Bruno. Had the best sliders around! Another stop we always made when pulling into town was Ken's Bakery. Fresh home-made pastries. Another place in Iron River we frequented was the Happy Italian. They're all gone. We enjoyed them while they were there...

Re: YOOPER AHO'S 2018 FALL DUMPFEST
As the first one to arrive, thought I would take a before pic.
Never seen the kitchen counter sooo empty before!
I have never seen the colors as vivid and beautiful before.
Unfortunately, that was the best thing seen on this trip. Very little in the way of beer cans.
Waaay too many food cans.

Not much found on this trip, but that's OK. We all had a pretty good time, well most of us anyway. Nuff said. As always Jon was a great host. Heres a couple of pics I took.

Wish I could have made it up to Jon's. A bad day at Ahoville is better than a goog day at work.

Yes it was. He wants $2600 for it. The story goes, is the shop owners dad gave him $10 to steal it from a place on 601 in the U.P. I guess that's the "I don't want to sell it" price.

That guy was pretty cool, Lots of Interesting Stories. Me & some bottle digging buddy's met him this Spring. He let me hold his prize possession, his Quart Arola Hutch locked up in his big Bank Vault in back Corner. Then Took a Group pic of us to put on his Website. LEON.

At the end of the week, there were much more than 2 bottom opened cans, not to mention the horde of top opened ones!

I was hoping Bjorn came across a 30s dump there. We found 50s,60s,70s and 80s dumps. Great variety too!

Re: YOOPER AHO'S 2018 FALL DUMPFEST
Kicked around a little more but never found an older dump. I scoured the area. Twice. Found more in the swamp, just dug some of the higher mounds- fit for a Kingbury, sunburst, Gold Chief O, Yusay, white Miller and alot of different Schlitz- and this cool bottle.
Thanks to Jon for making this all happen, what a great time seeing everything the UP has to offer. Team IRTP found IRTPs’ on the first stop and team LoPro hit some lopro’s every day if you count Rustys’ single can find(stretch). Looking forward to some clean pics. Ziphippie-

Re: YOOPER AHO'S 2018 FALL DUMPFEST
Here's what I brought home from Jonny's along with some flu like symptoms. The cold and damp got to me as I began to feel ill while driving home and I have had a bad cough all week , Despite all that I went out dumping here Minn yesterday and cleaned some cans today. Took home 30 or so rusty cans from the U.P. Thanks again to Jonny and the gang for putting up with me and that strange purple beer from Mankato. I won a prize at Fob's for guessing how many mini jelly packs were in a jar. The first thing I ever won in my life and I did not even get the prize. Fob's called me to tell me I had won when I was half way home. I guessed 72 and there was 74 in there. I told them to give it Jonny . Could someone let me know what the prize was. The low pro cone that I hid in my coat when Jonny, beast of burden and I were asked to leave a property was a faded Blatz Milwaukee beer. Neil was right, best color ever. Good to see someone finding some cans Bjorn ,catch a walleye for me. Still driving around looking for the casino,

I love that Bergoff ‘lantern’ TGT.
Sorry I wasn’t able to hit the stix with conesplus and Lovegun, next time guys. The Foxy D did clean up! Cleaned some mysteries from the resort and found more variety- 905, all red Rahrs, Gettelman fritzie, Blatz, Canada Dry, Nehi and white Grafs. Ziphippie

Re: YOOPER AHO'S 2018 FALL DUMPFEST
As usual I'm late to the post, a bit anal I guess, as generally I like to have my cans cleaned before posting about a dump trip.
Another awesome time UP in Ahoville. a little unusual this time with the rain, and snow and everything. But all in all another successful Dumpfest.
Nice stack of cans there TGT, You certainly have a nose for sniffing out some good rust.
and Bjorn wish I had more time, would have loved to join you at the Fay Lake resort for a day or two. Cool place and some nice variety in that dump.
What did the rest of you guys get, any surprises?
Great pictures guys, I think I'll pile on a few more.. the loot... The Blatz and 12oz Geobel are upgrades the rest are new cans for the shelf. sweet 8ozer, real happy with the Old Craft, the Standard, though grade five all the way from Cleveland don't know if i'll ever dump one again. The Schmitt quart was team dug with Patrick under some shingles. The Drewrys is shot up,the money shot faded, rusted, and then some over zellest scrubbing, kind of like a bigfoot picture but....
Click to supersize Great time guys, thanks for everything Jon. looking forward to getting together again.
Here's to mud on your boots.
