Thanks. It jumps off the shelf and totally eclipses anything I put next to it.

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
Wow, nice! So that's what that can looks like without a bunch of humidity. Certainly cleaner than mine.
Where exactly did a can like that "pop up"? Dealer?
Great acquisition for sure, congrats.

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
Thanks, Bob. A friend/dealer acquired it from a non-collector in Oklahoma. It apparently was saved by a relative who worked at either the can company or the brewery.OhioCanGuy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 9:19 pmWow, nice! Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
Today is Wednesday right! Pulled beliw out of a collection that was given to me last night. Each of several hundred cans in collection was carefully wrapped in 1988 dated newspaper. Unfortunately, the cones on 2 cans on top right were removed. Menominee's cream colored label doesn’t appear to be in book nor is the Colt Malt Lager zip. Kappy's 'dogbone' (?) tab is crazy looking. Check out the Schlitz Tall Boy misprint.

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
Do you think that could be discoloration from cigarette smoke? Too bad about the cones. Those cans look nice.
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
The can on the right came in the mail today. Yes, it's very off grade but it is still an upgrade so I'm happy. I was all set to get rid of the one on the left when it occurred to me this can came in both a metallic and non-metallic version. Maybe I actually have two different cans. Just kidding. The one on the left will go at some point.

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
I make exceptions for older Chicago cans but not for the newer Wisconsin cans. Also, I have Marion 12 oz. and quart cones because the Grand Rapids equivalents cost too much.

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
I found an example of one of the rarest Coca-Cola cans... A first generation 12oz plain diamond from the UK. The 11.5 ounces cans with the bottle diamond are still pretty rare, but available. I had never seen a clean example of this can. This one has a lid very similar to the US test can lids from 1955. I don't know the actual production date of the UK can, but it was likely before 1960.
I collect one flavor of rare soda can generations. Also publish Collectible Soda Cans - don't hesitate to contact me with cans you have available or questions about old soda cans.

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
Not Wednesday but weekend acquisitions anyways. Picked up the mint Black Label zip top (from Frankenmuth) with world map on back Yesterday from a Craigslist Ad. Picked up the E&B Special cone today from a Craigslist Ad. Had to go close to Downtown Detroit near the Little Ceasars Arena to get the E&B Cone. The Transaction was starting to make me feel uncomfortable down some back alley secluded sidestreets. Long Story. BUT, Anyways on the way back home down some side streets I drive by a rundown burnt down house. Out front by Curb was some old furniture & old wood from Interior Walls. No Cans but did find this cool looking nice Budweiser sign sitting on top of Garbage pile so a Freebie. LEON.
P.S. Double click pic to super supersize. At least the Budweiser Sign will super size with the double click.
