Re: Unreal
One thing that I noticed right away though that the Waldorf cans aren’t green like most I have seen dumped here. I was completely stoked. I noticed the indent in the ground and it dinged with the detector. First bottle out of the ground was a scotch bottle that I’ve also found at my grandmas dump, which is from 1936-37. Then out falls one of the fbir cones. I was completely speechless. I don’t ever expect to find pits this old, and I’ve never ever dumped a fbir cone before. I pulled probably 15-20 cans from here.

Yeah, after seeing that Yellow that's what I thought. Fritz. If so that's a great can to find. rare & desirable. Maybe your best find ever? LEON.

Re: Unreal
One of the Waldorfs in the ground looked a bit greenish … an Ale maybe? Sounds like some really great stuff there--those Waldorfs should clean up real well!

Re: Unreal
After 40 years of digging cans, my all time most wanted to dig can has always been that Fritzbrew cone. Your persistence paid off. My guess is that the Waldorfs will clean up well. Congratulations !

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?

Re: Unreal
Cans have been cleaning for awhile now. No Fritz brews, all are Milwaukee Clubs and they are in pretty bad shape.

Sorry to hear no Fritz's...that would have been cool.
Can you tell what the alc. variations are on the Mil. Club? Lots of different ones on that label.

Re: Unreal
Here's some keepers. The Pabst ale is from awhile ago as well as the drewrys scene can. Keeping both.
Keeping the best waldorf and Milwaukee club. They mention 4%
-Always wanted to dump a red Miller, and
-the dortmunder berghoff is a keeper too.
-CV 52 is a massive upgrade.
-Old bohemian is another can I've always wanted to dig. Pilsner version.
-Prager is likely an upgrade
-Ballantine is a surprise. Obviously going on the shelf.

Re: Unreal
A lot of times, the toughest or most desirable cans dug will end up being the roughest cans after cleaning, but in this case the Waldorfs preserved and cleaned up better than the rest! As far as red Miller's go, you need to get up to the U.P. You will find many up there.

Re: Unreal
Hi Ted
Is it possible to take a photo of just the Waldorf together by themselves with a solid color background ? A shot of all of them grouped together and stacked would really look impressive. Also a lone shot of the FBIR Berghoff like that would look cool.

Re: Unreal
I've dug Waldorfs here in Dayton back in the 70's and 80's. Steve Greene dug a few in Miamisburg about 10 years ago.

Some more cleaned cans from this trip and the trip before.
-I’m keeping the best Drewrys can as an upgrade.
- Cleveland black label is an upgrade
- blatz are a new variation for the shelf. 2 sided Milwaukee cans.
- E&B needs serious bodywork but it’s a new shelf can.
