Miller Lite Halloween Can - Update!!

#1

Post by kamsquared »

In the Sept/Oct 2017 issue of the BCCA mag, I had the privilege of writing an article in Chris Taylors "Vintage Can Closeup" about the Miller Lite Halloween Haunt contest, cans, and breweriana (Sept/Oct 2017 pgs 22-23). For the RB folks who aren't BCCA members, the article focused on the 3 black & orange contest cans that Miller "field seeded" into regular white label Lite cases. If you found a black & orange can, you could win some Miller merchandise, local concert tickets, OR THE GRAND PRIZE.......a trip for two to Universal Studios in L.A. for a private concert with Alice Cooper.

Each can had a description of what you would win on the back and how to claim your prize. The odds of winning were called out in the rules with 45,000 merchandise cans, 880 local concert ticket cans, and only 80 grand prize cans.

At the time the article was published, I had not found anyone who had a a grand prize can and I couldn't find any photos or artwork of what the verbiage was on the back of the grand prize can.

Fast forward to this week when I was able to purchase a sales promotion that showed a kind of artist rendering of the can. It's not an actual photo but I assume it is a good representation of what the actual cans looked like. Check your Lite Halloween cans.....this is a rare piece of aluminum!

Hey Kurt,
I only have one of them (presumably the easiest).
Can you post a pic of the two variations you have?
Thanks, Neil

Miller Lite Halloween Can - Update!!

#11

Post by kamsquared »

Hey Rusty Bunchers
I am looking for this pair of sunglasses from the Miller Lite Halloween Haunt contest. There was a pair on ebay this past week that I was outbid on. The auction was for the common can and the glasses. I'm not sure if the winning bidder wanted the can or the glasses (or both).
If you have a pair of these contest glasses and want to sell them....please let me know!!
