Beer Can Fun in Washington....

#1

Post by Cap-Sealed »

It's been a week now since we've been back. A great outing with Steve A., Bill L., Conehead and myself. Here's a few of the highlights (and one low-light) of our trip. We brought back 13 cases of dumpers plus assorted relics. Cant wait to go back!!!

Yes, it was a great time digging cans with good friends in the great Northwest!

I was riding with Steve when we got stuck. It went something like this......."hold my beer, watch this!" No seriously, we got stuck on the return trip. The way in went great. We stayed on top of the ruts and went through no problem. On the return trip, we tried doing the same thing and the truck just slipped right into the deep water. We didn't go two feet and got high centered. Very lucky we had the second truck and a tow strap. Ed just yanked us right out.

While I would not call them common, those Indiana Blackhawks turn up enough in Washington that they are not a surprise. They were definitely sold out here.

Bill was digging a 50s pit with Rainier Jubilees and Heidelbergs and came across a ratty Durst. He really wanted a good one and kept at it until he found one! Great Job!

Although the Blackhawks may not be rare, they were awfully fun to dig up. A 1000X better than finding an Oly.....

Just getting around to splitting the cans up between me, Bill, Conehead & Steve..... some of the cans could use another acid dip but good enough to split up.
