how rare are these gluek's?clean cans
I finally worked my way to the other side of the big Hamm's can dump I recently found and dug up some age! The Schmidt city club is an OI. Must be a case of those there. I have found this can before but always in bad shape . I Found 9 of the Gluek's low pro cones. looks some paint under there. So I am reasonably hopeful after a initial soaking in water. All found appropriately under a 1939 Minnesota license plate. a hat lamp too!

Re: how rare are these gluek's?
Outstanding find Tom!
Those look like they will clean up pretty well. Looking forward to cleaned pics.
Can't tell if they are the variation with the gold back ground (165-7,8) or blue back ground (165-5,6). Either are really good finds but I think the gold back ground ones are harder to find. BTW, there are two unpictured blue back ground ones with different alcohol statements. DNCMT 4% by weight, and Contains 4% by volume.

Tom, those Gluek's are tough, they look like the gold metallic with blue lettering, either 165-07 pilsener pale or 165-08 pilsener. That dump spot might deserve a second look! Hope they clean up well. I dug the pilsener at Lake Delhi, Iowa in 2015, NMT 4%. It's my RB website avatar --->

The cans are worth a nice piece if they clean up decent. Everything is relative. You won't have any trouble selling them right here. Congrats! Nice find....tomcd62 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 10, 2018 10:39 pm I finally worked my way to the other side of the big Hamm's can dump I recently found and dug up some age! The Schmidt city club is an OI. Re: how rare are these gluek's? clean now
I Soaked the 9 Gluek's cones in acid and the result ,as you can see, is less than desirable. Good paint and finish on one half of every can. the back half of most. 9 being an odd number I went back to the dump to see if I could find some more. Everything was going fine, found a nice Hamm's OI, a Pabst ale, a few more buds then a beer from Chicago showed up. no more Gluek's either. all joking aside the Gluek's ended up to be somewhat disappointing. However a great dig resulting in some nice keepers for my collection. time to find a new spot.
