Rehit the resort/cabin dump I recently found and brought Kyle along to get cones. Left at 5am and was going smooth until I smoked a deer at 80mph with my 1 week old van. Damage was minimal but still another thing to fix that I could barely afford. We got to the dump, put on bug spray like crazy and went in. I did most of the digging and handed every cone to Kyle while I took every decent flat. I found the same stuff as last time but no more BL bocks. I did find 5 bantams, 1 is an ale! A can I’ve been wanting to dump my entire life. I also kept a killer Menominee cone. Together we probably kept 300 cans. I was supposed to hit several other camp sites for pits but I got stuck at the first site and had to be rescued by some loggers (good thing a powerstroke pulled me out :smt023 ). With this happening I called it a day. Got food in Grayling and got a surprise text from Isaac my dads coworker inviting us to his cabin. Possible dumps around and plus we needed a place to check for ticks. Right as we were pulling into his place a huge random storm formed right over us producing some pretty bad winds, torrential rain and 1/4 inch hail. We got in his truck and he showed us several trails, and I brought my metal detector in case, although my hopes weren’t up. Right as we got a break from the rain we pull up to a lake and he said “ people have been camping here for 100 years or so”. Hell yes. Had only minutes to find cans as we could hear the thunder rolling through the woods. I detected everywhere with zero luck, until I hit one area and found a 40’s juice can. Solid evidence of campers! And then I got a huge signal. Dug and found a rim, 6 inches down and vertical. Definitely a pit and boy it was decent because the rim I felt was concave! Found about 30 40’s cans in one hole. Fox deluxe, mystery cones, and the older white/blue Meister brau. Another can I’ve always wanted to dump! Soon as I filled that hole in it started downpouring again. Gotta hot that place again.
Was an okay day. I’ll try to clean these as I can. However with gas prices rising and a few other reasons, no more dumping for me for awhile, or unless Dad and I go together with his truck.

Fast cleaners. Red fox is IRTP that I need. Red top is an upgrade from the one I found last time. Super happy about the bantam ale and Meister brau!

Cleaned cans from today. Out of acid already.
2nd black label has a NY distribution statement on it. Sebewaing has the price tag still on the lid and is completely bead less. Love how clean these are coming out.

Nice find on the Sebewaing can. The bead less lid is a variation I've been looking for since Chris Taylor let me know about it. What type of seam does the can have?

Straight. They’re all cans inc cans. Most have just an unbeaded bottom but this one is unbeaded on both lids

These sat overnight. The bud is probably the oldest can from the dump I kept since it’s the only one to have a 5 tooth seam. I’ll be keeping one of the pragers, took me forever to find a decent example.

Good work Bantam!

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?

Got around to clean more. Virtually all from part 2 are clean. Not much special cans here but I think the schlitz and Menominee are upgrades as well as the 2 Drewrys. Still got 50+ to clean from the first trip, should be some good ones in that bunch.
