This one surprised me. Yes. It's a rusted through dumper, but I never thought it would end like this.

I almost grabbed that but it's just not rare enough for me to forgive the condition. Now if that were a Roger Williams... or a Cheif, or a Red Top Beer oi .. i would have no hesitation.IRTP Phil wrote: ↑Mon Apr 16, 2018 10:19 pm This one surprised me. Yes. I had never seen one and went for it--high bid of $70 and it went for one dollar less than that. I can't afford an ongrade can so I'm happy!oldmoneytexan wrote: ↑Tue Apr 17, 2018 9:41 pm Anyone seen a Growler dumper before?

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
I remember that one that Oliver had at his tables for while... I don't know, I just figured somebody would pony up more than a buck for it. It's not completely rare, nor is it a part of my target collection, but I guess that I would have been less surprised if it had gone in the $15ish range. I guess maybe I love those rusty old beaters too much. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Leon wrote: ↑Tue Apr 17, 2018 9:32 pmIRTP Phil wrote: ↑Mon Apr 16, 2018 10:19 pm This one surprised me. Yes. I got my grade one Olde English cone for $1800 from Gene Judd..... glad to see the price has gone up.ConeAddict wrote:An Old English 600 cone, reserve not met at $2750. How much are these worth? I can't say I remember seeing one before
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Olde-English-6 ... SwdGJauvxd
That cone and the olive drab Sicks Select I bought at the same time was the most I have ever dropped on a can but I couldn’t pass them up.
I would never had seen either again. Cant be many out there in grade one condition with all that gold.

I do not follow tab knobs very often but I watched this auction because it from my area. I was amazed it went this high but maybe this is normal. I do not know much about tab knobs.

I don't think that is a normal price for your average tap knob. If that tap knob is average I don't know. Seems high to me though but i'm no ball tap knob specialist

I was ecstatic to finally see one of these for sale. It ended up a lot cleaner than I thought it would. Very underrated can.

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
I happened to stop by Peddler11's antique store prior to the Milwaukee Canvention. I knew he was an eBay seller and I tried to convince him to let me see the cans he was selling. Sadly he turned me down. Thought it was a little odd but so be it. I'm sure I would have pulled this one out if I had been able to look through his cans. Heck this might have been sitting in his store and I might have missed it........oldmoneytexan wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 7:44 pm I was ecstatic to finally see one of these for sale. Am I missing something here ??? or is this a fairly common tab with a cone top added to it ?

It's got a zip code in the address so the cone top can't be that old.

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
Comes complete with an authentic dent in the seam. Looks like I should start cutting the tops off of mine and smash a cone top on um. Heck it's getting more than a lot of the real (nice) cone tops are.

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
I'd say the seller knew the can was a fake. He telegraphs it over and over in his description. Doesen't come out and say it, but leaves the door open multiple times that it "is what it is".
Buyer beware.

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
Yep, sort of trying to have it both ways, saying just enough to try not to alienate those of us who know it isn't a real cone yet leaving enough room that maybe some newbie won't know and will pay way too much for it. $100 is too much, I know some people actually collect stuff like this but I sort of doubt they would pay that.OhioCanGuy wrote: ↑Sun May 13, 2018 11:27 pm I'd say the seller knew the can was a fake. Wonder how he's going to feel about the hobby when he realizes he paid $120 for a $1 can?

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
You may have noticed that ebay, with their infinite wisdom, has decided to make it more difficult to look at a closed listing.
In the case of the link to the fake Stoney's conetop, they take you to a live auction for a Wooden Shoe conetop.
Notice the line in blue that says: The listing you're looking for is no longer available. Check out this similar item we found for you.
Really. I wanted to see the Stoney's fake that we are discussing and they bring up a Wooden Shoe instead.
I've added pictures showing how to get to the Stoneys. Click on "listing" which will bring up the Stoney's. then click on "see original listing" which will bring up the pictures.
Please note that this does not always work. I have encountered some items that bring you to a page that says "This product is not available at this time" and you can not get to the original listing at all.
What a waste of time. It makes sense to copy all the pictures and text info for future reference while you still can.

I agree I hate the Idea its just pushing stuff on you
Like them saying "who cares about sold items"
I like to look at completed items to get idea of price or see what I missed out on.
