The New Year starting good OD Ballantine & Fitzgerald

#1

Post by ODtins »

Greetings to all, today I was working in Pisa area; all places around Pisa were famous WWII campsite and airport.

I was not sure, I had not so many hopes but asking about cans, I have meet a person who gave me 2 wonderful OD cans. The Fitzgerald's is really
beautiful, great condition. The Ballantine's has the top a little bit rust but the other sides are great.

I hope the 2018 will continue with strikes like this!! All guys are planning to visit Italy, contact me.

Have a nice day!!
Phil

That's incredible! I don't think I've ever seen an original Ballys OD. All the ones here are rolled flat sheets with weird, very incorrect 1970's lids on them. You probably got to drink some awesome vino too!

Nice find. Best way to begin a year. Question, since I have never seen an actual OD Ballantine that was filled, how many patent numbers?
Thanks

@ODtins Phil always great to hear about your finds.......keep up the hard work....

@Cap-Sealed I remember your request but not so easy; I know only 2 OD Grain Belt cans, one is mine and another one in a private collection... I tried to trade but not so easy....

Phil

About 10 years ago there was a find of 3 Grain Belt OD Cones (maybe more?) along with a Cincinnatti Burger Brau & many other OD cans. I don't think any of those 3 are part of the 2 you know of. Can you find me a Goebel & Fox Deluxe flat top OD's from Michigan? THANKS, LEON.

No, Phil's are from a separate find....

I had 2 Fox Deluxe ODs at one time...one came out of a shoe store front window in Oakland, Calif. I took them both to a Summerswap Show and they were both gone by the end of the day. I need one back! I got my Goebel OD at my 1st Cabin Fever show 4 years ago. A guy was selling his MI collection. I had a choice to either get the Goebel or the Fox and I went with the Goebel. They were too pricey to get both. Hindsight, I should have worked something out..... But I do love my Goebel!
