Look what I found in a beer can collection I bought!
Any help with current values would be a great help. This is just some of them. Willing to trade for on grade odd size flats and cones or crowntainers.
I am always looking for grade 2 or better quarts!

Re: Look what I found in a beer can collection I bought!
These cans by and large don't seem to be run of the mill sodas--I don't know values very well but I'm sure that a lot of these would sell for a few bucks apiece. And I'm sure I need quite a few of them too!

Yup some good stuff in there, that Montco root beer is not noted in the guide with the 'caramel colored', A-Treat birch beer with a juice tab?...nice
Couple of the Patio's are good, does that second Orange Patio have silver lettering? The Unity lemon-lime is also a real good can....marked as an RO in the guide!

Re: Look what I found in a beer can collection I bought!
Thanks guys! I have 2 Briardales (check latest post). Still doing research on pricing. A few R0-R3 in here. I don't want to get ripped off. Anybody wanting close ups of particular cans PM me. I am probably keeping a few. Also PM with offers. The guy I bought the collection from was a little dishonest ( or blind) about the condition of the beer cans in the collection I bought offline. I was after his Grade 1 Prima English Lad Quart which turned out to be a barn can. So I am hoping the sodas will get me back to even. Anything left will be going to ebay or Canvention.
I am always looking for grade 2 or better quarts!

NO, The Unity in book that is a R0 has Brand under name (even though not pictured) Is Prezip, & does not have 12 fl oz at bottom. Can pictured has no brand, has 12 fl oz at bottom & looks like zip code can #U40-4 which is a multi flavor can. meaning instead of picturing all 5 or 10 different flavor's of the can, just picture 1 & call it multi flavor. That can is priced at $3-$5 bucks, if it is #u40-4,

Re: Look what I found in a beer can collection I bought!
Ok that is true...but #U40-4 has a shield shape instead of the banner, his can pictured does not have a shield it has the banner across the center right?, it resembles #U40-2A, except the 'soda' is in red whereas this one is in green and yes with the 12 fl oz at bottom, his can is a FT isn't it?.....maybe this is an undocumented transition can?Leon wrote: ↑Sun Mar 05, 2017 9:28 pm "The Unity lemon-lime is also a real good can....marked as an RO in the guide!"

Re: Look what I found in a beer can collection I bought!
Yeah, it looks more similar to the #U40-2A. The 1974 Version in book comes as a flat top also. The big question is is it prezip or not. It reminds me of my 2 Faygo Moonshines cans I asked about in here a couple of moths ago. both minor variations not in book. Dave can't get every minor variation in the book. So it was kinda of determined instead of rare R0 cans most likely common overlooked. So what is this can then? LEON.

Re: Look what I found in a beer can collection I bought!
I some how missed your Faygo post!..lol...for those cans you would just have to keep an eye like Dave said, after a while of seeing can on ebay or in other collections then you get an idea, sometimes the minor variation is far rarer than the one noted in the guide.
This can may be a common variation toward the end of that generation, but then it may be a short lived end of generation that lasted only 6 months?...that would mean few are to be found. So I think you could at least say it's a late variation of #U40-2A
Ps...Benbrew please post a pic of the seam of the Unity lemon-lime so we can see the canner info!

Sorry will, Click is gone. Franks is an early one with Shiny bottom and fan style early ring pull. You are second in line on the HOKO. Is that one still an RO? Would this make 2 known?

The Unity has Shiny lids with Packing co. info around the top. This has a zip but is pre 70's for sure. I'm surprised nobody has asked about the Bala Club?

Re: Look what I found in a beer can collection I bought!
I think the Unity is likely a transition generation from the later 60's. It may just have not been noticed as the zip code Unities tend to be pretty abundant. Tom Bates recognized an orange and a root beer like this one, with the contents at the bottom. The id was U40-1. I will be adding it. The picture in the Bates book wasn't clear enough to see the contents, so I was not that sure about it.
Any chance, you could post a straight on view of the face and the seam for the guide?
Thx,
DT

Re: Look what I found in a beer can collection I bought!
This is a fascinating model of subliminal advertising and I am being serious on this one.
I do not think it is a coincidence that the woman's hand is literally over the man's groin area. the man is in a very powerful manly, powerful pose while the other man, is lying in wait.
The woman has a belt on her dress that outlines the classic 70's swatch of where her girly parts would be.
'Get with it' is the slogan and Click is very close to my father's first name which is Dick.
I do not think any of those items is coincidental. What say you?

Re: Look what I found in a beer can collection I bought!
Thanks for clarifying that. I didn't realize that was the woman's arm between the two of them. I figured it was the man's body part the way he is smiling.I do not think it is a coincidence that the woman's hand is literally over the man's groin area.
