A question on the Mission Orange cans.
Was it the orange DRINK cans that were found by the thousands, or was it the orange SODA cans. I had some mission orange SODAS for sale at a show (1.00), and people kept telling me they were worthless because of this huge find of them. Which one was it, or both????

Re: A question on the Mission Orange cans.
My mission can is the DRINK version .I never heard of the find- what state and where? Was it in an old building or a distributor warehouse?

Re: A question on the Mission Orange cans.
Not sure of the story behind the find but it was only the Orange Drink can that was found and there were a bunch of them. Every once in awhile you will see a case of them for sale on Ebay. The Orange soda is less common but still available fairly easily.
Most wanted can finally found!

Re: A question on the Mission Orange cans.
If the sodas were clean, I'd buy them for a buck a piece. Not the drinks though :)

Re: A question on the Mission Orange cans.
Thanks for an answer to this lingering question. I sold them for .50 at the roadrunner show. I find them, and lots of other different mission cans buried on the old firing ranges on Ft. Bliss

Re: A question on the Mission Orange cans.
If you ever find any that have the Minnesota bottling location either on the label or the lid I would be very interested in them.

Re: A question on the Mission Orange cans.
I've found a few of them, but they are always in worse shape than the others. Sadly, thats the cleanest one I have found. I'll keep digging.

Dave, I don't remember ever seeing one before. Do you know where your picture from the guide came from?

Hi George,
No, I don't - might have been on the RB site. I think these dumpers are the only examples so far.

My brother (CMD) dug the Half & Half pictured in the book - not sure if he still has it or not.

Re: A question on the Mission Orange cans.
I found one of the Half & Halfs out in the desert. It's in bad shape but was folded in half so I can read most of one side pretty clearly.
I dump cans and cars, if you find old cars & trucks while dumping, please let me know.

Brad and I dug the half and half near Taos NM , thats where a great deal of soda cans went to die ( not unlike an elephant graveyard!)
Coincidentally , I got this indoor can from Brad some years ago ...so now maybe an R2 ??

Re: A question on the Mission Orange cans.
Wow nice example!, that is still an R1.....It is an RO that is one known, but R1's are known only as dumpers!
That is so tough in that condition...maybe impossible even.
