Re: beer can lid folk art coaster
I picked this up in south Georgia about 15 years ago. It was made to be a child's chair by someone in the 1950's. It used a 12 pack of Atlantic Plantation cans that are held together by long bolts thru the cans. The antique dealer considered it folk art.
Let's see, if on grade, 12 cans at what $1,200 each, or more? I would have been tempted to break it up and sell it. As is, it is just a neat rusty oddball Atlantic object that makes my collection more interesting.

Re: beer can lid folk art coaster
That Atlantic chair is really cool, the creator gets 1950 father-of-the-year. A close second place goes to this guy, "here kid, go play with this sharp, rusty, heavy metal train." The cow catcher could slice roast beef- Bjorn

And then there is bottle cap art. I got the Olde Frothingslosh guy back in the 1990's. It wasn't until 2014, that the Olde Frothingslosh girl showed up on ebay.
He was so excited to see her arrive.

I knew those bottle cap guys would rear their ugly head sooner or later. I almost forgot my Jub fly rod holder, my brother has the smaller top section in his collection, he uses it to transport important maps- he gave me the larger section. Thank you, Brougham. Bjorn

Re: beer can lid folk art coaster
A guy in town back in the day made beer can furniture and lights. This is a table my brother got from him before he passed away.

Re: beer can lid folk art coaster
Here's another cut can. This one looks like a vase. Lots of work went into this piece, One mistake and the artist would have to start over again.

Re: beer can lid folk art coaster
My wife loves sunflowers, beer cans? not so much. I spotted these on eBay I knew I had the perfect Xmas present. She loves them, said they are very "granny house"- it took a couple minutes for her to realize they were Canadian Ace beer cans, haven't laughed that hard in a long time. They are hanging in the bedroom now- Bjorn

Re: beer can folk art
There's a bit of a beer can folk art business going on in Thailand making Tuk Tuks (those 3 wheeled "cars") out of beer cans as souvenirs or collectibles. No one guy doing it....a number of different folks....and they are putting them up on ebay. The ones I like the best are those that are built into cans....like ships in a bottle only much simpler.
