Wisconsin Juice Tops
I am wondering if anyone could tell me what Brands of Wisconsin Beer were sold in Juice Top Cans?....So far I have the following Cans.
Both 1 and 2 line Chief Oshkosh
Red Adler Brau w/wide seam
Oconto
Point
I know this is a top variation but how long were they on the Market? My quess is not long at all. Thus making a few Brands pretty tough too find........Any help on this would be appreciated!

Re: Wisconsin Juice Tops
I know the red Adler brau comes in a narrow seam, too. Not sure if you consider that a variation, some specialist do.

Yea I have seen more of those than the wide seam Cans and most of the ones I see the seams are coming apart.I never really was a big fan of glued seam Cans for that reason.
I do appreciate your input!.....I guess I really can't think of any other Wisconsin Juice Tops other than the four I already have?....I wonder if the Silver Adler Brau or Rhinelander came with those Tops?

Not sure on those two, but I would think Blatz probably used them at one point since just about every other lid/ canning company can be found in their line up.I do appreciate your input!.....I guess I really can't think of any other Wisconsin Juice Tops other than the four I already have?....I wonder if the Silver Adler Brau or Rhinelander came with those Tops?

That's an interesting thought!....Thankyou for your insight!....I will have too keep a eye open for one of those.
I often wondered why People's or Old Timers didn't use that Top?They both went from a Flat Top right to a Ring Pull Top

I have seen juice tops from Pabst, but they were all from the Los Angeles brewery.
What about the Old Craft tab from Oconto? Is it a juice tab?

Re: Wisconsin Juice Tops
These are the juice tabs that I know of from Wisconsin. The only others that haven't been mentioned are a couple varieties of Schlitz cans.
The Adler Brau as has been mentioned comes wide and glued (narrow) seam. The wide seam can also differs in the eagle is metallic gold while the glued is enamel.
The Schlitz come 10 and 12 oz. The 12 oz. is dated 1962 while the 10 oz. is dated 1973 with the dot over Milwaukee. The 10 oz. is interesting in a couple ways. The lid is still tin-plated steel which is very late for
a juice tab. Also, the opening on this can is still the same dimension as a 12 oz. but the ring is truncated to fit the inner lid diameter. This also occurs on the 10 oz. Budweiser from Houston.
I also included a lid variation of the 12 oz. Schlitz.
The Chief Oshkosh comes with one and two lines of text. The two line can is a wide seam while the one line can is a glued seam.
All wisconsin juice tabs that I have seen are American Can Co. plant number 56. and also only come with the earlier tin-plated tops. Breweries such as Maier and Eastern usually have a mix of plated and tin-free steel tops.
I wouldn't be surprised if there are other Wisconsin juice tabs that I haven't seen. Any additional info would be appreciated.

Re: Wisconsin Juice Tops
Other than the flat, I've had three Old Craft "non cans" (no openener needed) over the years, and all were the third generation zip lid used by American.Longhorn Mike wrote:I have seen juice tops from Pabst, but they were all from the Los Angeles brewery.

Re: Wisconsin Juice Tops
What JAL said.I have heard the Old Craft Zip is a pretty Rare Can.I quess it would make sense it could have been made as a Juice Top seeing there is an Oconto Juice Top.But then I don't know how long Old Craft was being Made into the early Zip Top period time.Longhorn Mike wrote:I have seen juice tops from Pabst, but they were all from the Los Angeles brewery.

Re: Wisconsin Juice Tops
Wow......Thank you for all of your valuable info.!.....I really do appreciate it.I have never seen any Schlitz Juice Tops.I quess I wasn't looking either. Those are some nice Cans you have there!J. So I have too ask in your opinion which of those Wisconsin Juice Tops you have there was the toughest for you too find?.....I think both the 1 line Chief Oshkosh and the glued seam Adler Brau would be the more common pair?.....Just my opinion.
Thank you for the Cool Pictures and Info.!
