The question of how to assemble the BCCA Can Totes comes up now and then. No instructions come with the totes that I've ever seen.....so in an attempt to document how to do it, I'm providing these step by step pictures and descriptions below.
First, your can totes will come delivered without any kind of real packaging.....and just some cover cardboard and strapped together as seen in this picture:
The bundle will come with Three perforated pieces of cardboard per tote. The first I will call "The Box" and it looks like this as delivered:
Take "The Box" and punch out and discard all the perforated inserts to make it look like this:
There are two additional perforated pieces of cardboard for your tote....each piece will contain a set of what I will call "The Insert and Dividers". This is what one of the two looks like when it is delivered:
After you punch out and discard all the perforated inserts....and separate them it will break into 6 pieces that look like this....5 "Dividers" on the right and "The Insert" on the left:
Fold each of the "Dividers" into the shape you see below, and also fold "The Insert" into an accordian shape below. Notice one of the "Dividers" is nested into the slots in "The Insert" already:
Insert the rest of the "Dividers" into "The Insert" to make it look like the picture below.....and do the same to your second "Divider/Insert" sheet
Next go get "The Box". Start to fold the "tabs" into the box and the end of the box over the tabs as you see starting to happen in this picture:
Once you completely fold the end of the box over the tabs, you will be able to force it into its little slots to hold it in place as shown here.....repeat for the other end of this side of "The Box"....
Go get the assembled "Insert" and stick it into the bay you just created in "The Box". Be sure to keep the handle and tabs out of the way.
This is what it will look like when "The Insert" is stuck inside "The Box". Fold the handle for "The Box" over and slip the loose end between "The Insert" and "The Box" as shown here:
Repeat for the bay on the other side of "The Box". This is what it will look like if you've done it correctly.
Fold/close "The Box" and then you will need to fold the locking tabs.....
.....so they will insert into their slots like this:
This is what the completed tote should look like:

Cannot thank you enough for taking the time to do this. I am very spatially challenged and something as seemingly simple as this could've taken me hours. Ikea is not a place I frequent.

Thanks for the step by step. Only extra step I use is adding white duck tape to the corners and handles for reinforcement. Just personal preference

Re: CAN TOTE Assembly Instructions (12oz)
After a couple weeks on back order they finally arrived. Even with the great instructions it took me almost two hours to put these 5 together. Pics of a couple filled with collection cans I have no room to display
