invalid photo

Post by txspecial »

Every time I try to attach a photo to my post, I get a message saying it is invalid. I don't understand - it is a 60k jpg about 380x480. It has me frustrated.

It all depends on whether you're buying or selling.

Finally got it to work. Whew! Still not sure why the problem or what fixed it.
I saw someone else had a problem with uploading of their smartphone camera photos. That is what this was.
I took the original jpg and saved it as bmp, then converted it to png. That png was uploaded. Wasn't quite that simple in real time, but maybe this can help someone else in the future.
I'm wondering if there was some kind of header junk in the camera-created jpg? It displayed fine, but would not u/l.

I'm not sure if this site suports Png?.... If I take a photo its saved as jpeg but ad soon as I crop it my phone converts it to png and those won't load onto the site.
I also have a bad habit of turning my phone for can photos and they load sideways on here!.....

Guys, let's not get too far off course here. The problem was some glitch between that photo and the board upload client. "The image file you attempted to upload is invalid."
The site does accept PNG (portable network graphics) files. It's there in the 'seasons greetings' thread.
It all depends on whether you're buying or selling.

That pic looks to be just sideways. Your image viewer may auto-rotate the photo for the best fit to the screen.
