Wow! Cool history. Carbon dating booze isn't something I'd have thought of (1763 to 1803)

Iron Guts contender? :-)

What a great story. The UGA lab is real good (Center for Advanced Isotope Studies) and the new director is a very sharp lady. The 1763-1803 spread means their date came back as 1783 +/-20 (at a 90% confidence level). They probably sent the 2nd sample to Scotland as they are likely using the next generation of dating called PIMS positive ion mass spectrometry which uses even smaller samples to get more precise and accurate dates..

seems cheap for what that bottle means age wise... Andy
