A quick heads up for everyone in the central U.S. That storm heading through Kansas toward Iowa is one serious wind storm on the backside. Hit us in Colorado today with blizzard conditions and a peak wind gust at the Colorado Springs airport of 97 mph, the highest measured gust on record. Batten down the hatches if you're in its path. The local weather guys called it a mid-continental bomb cyclone.
