I have a hot wheels book that’s just like our bcca book with all the variations of cars somewhere. I’ll have to find it.

Found it. Although I don’t think this will help too much, as it’s 10+ years old and the cars in it aren’t sold in stores anymore. There is a page in the back with all the different wheels and a glossary.
I’d recommend joining some of the Facebook groups, as there’s a number of them. Just like the Can pages, lots of buy/sell/trade and knowledge.

I don't actually collect them but I do grab them when I see them for the right price at yard sales and flea markets. I have an ulterior motive however, I mess around and try to do mods like this... https://hooktube.com/watch?v=3OyKG78ljMM

That's not me and creative ability waaaaay beyond my humble (or pathetic) attempts.

I didn't know there was a reference book for Hot Wheels. Thanks for posting that. I have probably 200 of them stored in a box in the closet. Several from the late 60's and 70's that I saved from my childhood and many from the 90's still in the bubble packs that I collected when I "decorated" my shop.

I sold my vintage Hotwheels Redlines for some actual BFGoodrich Silvertown radial Redlines! Look for colors that little boys probably didn’t purchase, like light blue and pink. Anti-freeze is another sought after color from that era- condition is everything (just like beer can collecting). There was a couple thousand dollars in this case alone. Ziphippie

I really don't collect Hot Wheels , but I have these when I was a kid. These cars hasn't play much as I use it for special event. Such a drag race with my neighbor. Spend a day set up the track ,loop, etc. saying who have the fastest Hot Wheel. I used to have more but I played with it. I still have the track, loop etc.

There is probably 50,000+ hot wheels still in the box at my friends Collectables store here in Myrtle Beach. Some go for quite a bit of money....

Nice collection! You have a lot of the redlines that I have, except in different colors. The ambulance and tow truck you have/had is from the "heavyweights" series and are pretty valuable for a later version of the redlines. I have two different color dump trucks from that series.

Another nice group! The red Baron is one of my favorites. Those buttons used to come with the cars in the original series and are also collectible. I had a lot of the orange track and even the pit stop garage but I hid the track and eventually threw it all away after my mom used it to correct my behavior.

The Red Baron come in 3 or 4 variation, just like beer can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mine is a 1969. They also came out in 1972 or 73 ,but not much variation. I forgot to mention when I post my Hot Wheels, All my Hot Wheels are Redlines !! The motorcycles came out in the middle of 1970's ? . Other interesting note : The Mod Squad I have made in U.S.A. as they are several variation of those.

Thanks. Since I own a '76 Camaro I'd like to own the small model versions, including Hot Wheels. I have 3 so far, one Hot Wheel and 2 Johnny Lightnings (whatever they are).

I also have a couple dozen of my originals I got as a kid from 1968-1970 or so.

Found these today clearing out my closet. The ones in front are some from the first series and the ones in the cases are from the second series but They're all redlines. I have to stop collecting stuff and want to find someone who would buy these or trade cans for them. I don't do facebook and I will not sell on ebay. Is there someone who buys these and pays a fair price? Thanks for any help.

Those are buttons. They used to come in the package with the Hot Wheel and would match the car that you got. The tab just folded over so you could attach it to a shirt pocket or t-shirt neck and would break off if you messed with it much. I have no idea on value, but would imagine that ones with the tabs are worth a bit.

I have a catalog from the first year, and in looking through it discovered that I probably owned every one of the regular cars from that first edition at one point or another. My friends and brothers would trade them. Unfortunately we played with them constantly, so what we have left after Mom sold a lot of them in a garage sale aren't in too good of shape. The catalog had some other interesting cars that I don't remember ever seeing, like larger versions of some and some that were essentially models.
