My old Pioneer receiver is in the shop (bought new in '79) so I can't listen to music like I normally do. I've been watching a lot of you tube videos on the computer. You tube gives you a different perspective of some of your favorite bands. I found this video of a group that I really like - Tool. It's from 1993

Nickleback gets a bad rap around here for some reason but I dig this song. After a couple wobbly pops it's really good. It's the first song I played after getting back my old receiver from the repair shop.

Just went back and checked out some of the previous vids and I like this version of the song better than the one done by the Animals. FWIW a lot of the cars in that vid were built by Steve Darnell and his crew. You can check them out and see the builds on 'Vegas Rat Rods'.

Nick Mason digs deep into the Pink Floyd catalog, the stuff I like best, and the result is better than I dared hope for.

I got into The Yardbirds 40 years ago because of Jimmy Page, and I realized shortly thereafter that Jeff Beck stands head and shoulders above everybody else on electric guitar. He's also one of very few 1960's/1970's artists who's still putting new music out, trying new things, and doesn't rely on hits from the past to fill a setlist when he tours. I've seen him live a dozen times and the shows are always stellar, particularly when he tours without a vocalist. Here's a really heavy one and one from the other end of the spectrum.

Someone has posted the Van Halen isolated guitar tracks on youtube - 53 songs so far. For some, like me, this is awesome to listen to. Here he scorches through a lesser known, but one of my favorite tracks - Hang em high.
