Re: The blue train
You been busy!!!! Looks GREAT!!!!!!
Well, I installed the new B&W 5er hitch and a Extang solid tri fold cover and going to order a set of new Alcoa rims since these have oxidation on it's way. All I did is work on cars & trucks growing up but never was a diesel guy and this is my first. I have to say the power is more then impressive but now it's your turn to tell me what I need to do under the hood to make it the best it can be?????? 2011 if I didn't already tell ya.

Re: The blue train
Steve, it depends on your spending limit. It also depends on what you want to do to it. Too much and you will have to upgrade the HPOP, transmission and other things. A good difference is a decent cold air intake. They range from $160 all the way up to $400. I would stay AWAY from K and N filters as I've heard of them letting too much junk through and damaging the turbo or worse. I would recommend AFE power filters. They are pretty much designed for ford trucks. They add more horsepower, torque and improve your gas mileage. And thanks, I have been very busypotters66 wrote:You been busy!!!! Looks GREAT!!!!!!

Re: The blue train
F3 and not really any budget this time. Just doing it right for what we need. I don't mind doing the HPOP or tranny if I have to but looking for more of the easier bolt on stuff for at least a year or so before I really get into it. Only have 18K on it.

Re: The blue train
Just looked into the cold air filter and was impressed with the gain in HP and torque. Like you said it's in the mid $4s so what do you think?
If I get it and like it, I'll send you a can but if I get it and it sucks you have to send me a can.

Re: The blue train
I'd get it. Almost every built diesel has one. That's a good start for building a truck and I haven't even done it to mine yet.potters66 wrote:Just looked into the cold air filter and was impressed with the gain in HP and torque. Like you said it's in the mid $4s so what do you think?

It is. There's so many things that are so different from a regular car that people don't know about. When I change my OWN oil, it takes just over 16 quarts. And 2 car batteriesCanadacan wrote:Huh....that's neat
