I know it was made by AMC (American Motors Corporation) but was it a Amc Javeline or Amc AMX?

Javelin. Got everything here to put it together too. The engine in it now has a spun rod bearing.

Re: The Black Widow
The Orange one pictured above looks like a Javelin with a AMX Hood. I'm no Amc expert though. Big Bad Orange I think Amc called that color. As for rust cut it out & replace it. But with Amc's not being real popular I'm not sure if anybody makes reproduction parts. Look at the AMD website to see if they make Javelin reproduction parts. LEON.

Re: The Black Widow
Made some significant progress this past weekend. Cylinder heads are off, and I’m in the process of removing gasket material from them. It’s really cool to see inside the cylinders that the cross hatches are still there after 230,xxx miles. Maintenance is key. Looks like I’ll be able to keep new pistons at standard bore. From here on I’m waiting on crower billet connecting rods and OEM (original equipment manufacturer) pistons that will be delipped, coated, and cut for valve reliefs. The delipping prevents cracking under high heat situations like in heavily fueled engines as well as the coating. The valve reliefs gives extra clearance between the pistons and valves because this engine will be cammed. Also, my new injectors arrived. The flow ratio on these is 400/400, which is the largest injectors made for these trucks. They are proven capable of producing over 1,000 horsepower with correct supporting modifications. My old ones were 160/0. Major upgrade in fuel supply.

Pistons, billet I beam rods, ARP main studs and main girdle are here. Now it’s machine shop time. This bottom end will be able to support 1000+ horsepower easy.

Re: The Black Widow
Finally got it back together after being at the shop. Brand new everything plus everything required to handle 1,000 horsepower (although I’ll likely never push it that far). This is only one of less then 3 or 4 in the state to be completely built this far, and the only one in the state to run 400% injectors. Got a LOT to do yet, but it’s back to being a long-block. Paint is killer.

Re: The Black Widow
Thanks Steve. I’d love to have a standard cab 6.0. Faster truck with less weight. The shop that assembled my engine has a whole crew of them, all with tons work done to them. One of which was running 2 turbos, but he sent a rod through the block after a few years of daily abuse.
And yeah Leon, far from cheap setup.

Good point.
Ted, can you post a picture of what your truck looked like on the day you bought it and a picture of what it looked like before you tore it apart again? It would be interesting to see the contrast.
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

Here ya go. After I had it painted and put new wheels on it the project really started to get fun. That bottom picture at the car show is one of my favorites.

Re: The Black Widow
It's come a long way. I had forgotten until I saw these that you also replaced the entire bed. This has been quite a project. My brother did extensive work to his truck in high school after he rolled his truck. It may not have seemed like it at the time but all the work he did turned into quite a blessing. He has done considerable work over the years that he not only enjoys, it has saved him a lot of money. You will benefit from this experience for the rest of your life.

Re: The Black Widow
Starting to really look like an engine now! Headers, t4 turbo mounting kit and gen3 high pressure oil pump on all in the past month. The t4 lets me run any s3/s4 series borg Warner turbo. The oil pump is a necessity when running such large injectors. All I need is a turbo and tuning and I’ll be throwing it together and hopefully have it running in May

@bantam10
I bought this a little over a year ago but I do not think I ever posted it here. It's a 2018. It's not as fancy/powerful/upgraded as yours but it gets the job done. I like that it has an aluminum body. I actually dropped it off at the body shop today. I was pulling a travel trailer near Buffalo, New York when a semi-driver who was not paying attention to the world around him rear ended me. The travel trailer took the bulk of the damage but it will still take the body shop a month and $15,000 to make my truck right again. Oh well . . .
