Re: LETS SEE YOU FAVORITE FIREARM
My first gun was a Ruger .44mag Carbine, the semi auto the 10-22 is based on. It was my dad's first gun, and he sold it to his little brother when he left for 'Nam, I bought it from him on my 12th birthday.bantam10 wrote:Do you really? We got one too, a Ruger. Always wanted the pistol to match, when I was 24 I got a chance to take one in on trade towards a Ramcharger. Still two of my favorites. Love the carbine, it jumps to the shoulder like it belongs there, shot more deer then I can remember with it

Re: LETS SEE YOU FAVORITE FIREARM
The Rifle? That's a gorgeous gun! My dad has a buddy that has one, and I love it! I like the older western guns way more than what we have nowadays. I don't know why but I do. revolvers and lever actions are the way to go, and I got bothchaunasknight wrote:My first gun was a Ruger .44mag Carbine, the semi auto the 10-22 is based on. Re: LETS SEE YOU FAVORITE FIREARM
Is that a Mosin? Looks to be the same gun hat started this thread but wih the stock still complete. Shot mine two nights ago, took two shots to hit a milk jug at 450-500 yards uphill with open sights. Those things are accurate for being 70+ years old!

Re: LETS SEE YOU FAVORITE FIREARM
Yes it's a mosin. I've been wanting to get a older military rifle, nothing in particular just a fun shooter. With the recent import law that was passed i figured it would be cheaper to get one now. Haven't shot it yet, maybe I'll go to the range Monday or Tuesday. It was packed with cosmoline and had to spend a few hours with a heat gun and mineral spirits cleaning it. Was looking on youtube on how to put a bipod on one and this was the best way i seen. Looks sort of strange but is comfortable trying it out. Will see for sure when i shoot it.

Ammo is pretty cheap for it, I can get a 440 round tin for under $125 shipping included.

Re: LETS SEE YOU FAVORITE FIREARM
Just got this today for plinking & rodent control at our cabin. A new Bass Pro Shop opened in CO Spgs., so I figured I'd check it out today. Left with a new pistol. I chose this model for the top rail. I might mount a red dot since I've really gotten used to them on my AR's.

Re: LETS SEE YOU FAVORITE FIREARM
Nice Ruger Ted! Talk about cowboy'n up. I got some rounds through the new S&W today. Shot 50 rounds of Aguila Supermaximum (hyper velocity) and it was smooth as silk. Got a red dot coming in for some better optics. My eyes aren't what they used to be...
