Damn I jealous. I've been out a couple times lately and water is over 90. Just too hot and fish are no where to be found.

I'm jealous too! Because I hadn't a chance to get out lately .... HAD TO WORK! The good news is my work was going to Buffalo to a beer can show AND PALING AROUND WITH OLD + NEW FRIENDS that mostly have funny accents.
Bjorn ... NICE PIKE! Greg Hackney called pike "legless crocodiles" Cool!!!

Pike are my favorite! They blow up on a buxtail ripped just under the surface. I lost a bigger fish but landed this chunky three-footer on a...you guessed it, Norski Nailer. Tough to get a good pic with these 'ornery critters in the Tuffy by myself- Bjorn

got out again in the Tuffy with an original Pike Patrol member this morning, we've fished together over 40years, told him to put the friggin' Mepps away and threw him one of my smaller size Norski buxtails after releasing two smaller viscious pike. Less flash, more color. Black is also a great choice when the sun is hot! I also included a pic of one of my handcrafted topwater baits. Anyway, third cast, Wham! 41" fatty muskie caught by Fiore(pronounced "fe-OR") -Bjorn(pronounced "be-ORn").

You don't want any fish slime in that new rig, kb? Got a couple yesterday on a Norski buxtail near the bridge over a chilly feeder creek leading out to the lake, one max'd out my bump board while giving me the ol' fish eye- Bjorn

It has been action packed lately! snuck out again this afternoon with Pike Patrol member Spicoli, before I could get my line out he landed this fatass 38".
image.jpeg
I have to admit, action on my bucktails has slowed up a bit so we took a short trip upriver to catch some live bait(cheating), picked up eight 3"-5" bluegills to soak under a large buoy/bobber with quikstrike rigs - the 'gills didn't last long..... we caught five fish in 2.5hours....smallest was 37", lost one monster....bent rods and screeching drag. My kayak fishing trip turned into a dumping trip this afternoon after I lost a big 'ol bass, I think... never saw it , at the mouth of an old quarry pond(lake) that connects with the Root River here in Milwaukee. I was so frazzled I threw my favorite and best color bucktail in the very large tree. Managed a couple smaller bass and fought some 30"pike, I clearly had other things on my mind.

I wanted to walk around the entire quarry and check out some old foundations, there is rust everywhere. Bjorn

The heat broke and hurricane Mathew helped blow the redtide out, so it was time to get out and see what we could find. Got 6 or 7 Redfish and 5 Snook. As the weather cools the fishing will get hotter.

Nice fish, gorgeous pics Chuck! blue skies, blue water- two things that are hard to find here in WI right now. Had to hang up the fishing gear for a bit while I renovate my sisters new lake home on the shores of Lake Ripley( 11lb+ state record bigmouth was caught there in 1940! ) just wait 'til next year! I sound like a Brewers fan now- sheesh. Bjorn

Nice looking fish! All you needed was a keeper sized Trout and you would have had a Florida Slam. Sure miss flats fishing out that way.

Have not sunk a line since 2012 when I caught this large mouth while visiting my dad's place in Florida. Not big by Florida standards, but was still fun catching and releasing it. Didn't even loose my cigar.

I snuck away on my lunch hour working on the new cottage, don't tell the boss. Just a short drive to the river. All I had was my walleye stick with 6lb. mono and a couple rapalas. This fish took me for a ride! I had to yell "Got 'eeem'!" for the cameraman to meet me downstream, sorry about the pic, just click to supersize- he's fired. Bjorn

Great pics guys, love to see RB'ers who get out and fish. My best memories growing up was fishing with my Dad. I live on a 165 acre mill pond here in DE. The second largest lake in the state. Here's one I caught with my son last weekend.
