FInally got out with Spicoli today. He landed this after a ten minute struggle on an all-black Norski bucktail ripped just under the surface.
He's battling lymphoma, halfway through chemo. looking more like that guy that married Madonna these days
(his joke, not mine). One tough 34year old mofo. Bjorn

First trip after hurricane Irma took a shot at us. Water is still very dirty and it was difficult to sight fish. We ended up finding some keeper redfish is a deeper hole. With the redfish and other assorted fish it made for a great fish fry.

Had some frash red fish -they are tasty ... glad your back out on water ... now finally caught a monster smallie , they have been banging many 6 plusers this summer and as I posted earlier an 8.24!! I don't fish the lake much but last few weekend we have had calm days and take the pleasure boat and I sunk some bait and been having fun .. last Sunday after enjoying our 3-1 Bills and the W we went out on lake for a nice evening .. got a few fish and then a big 'um .. all my scales and tapes are on fishing boat , but this was an arm burner - pushing 6LBs and my previous best had been 4.5.. SO for me and most this is a BIG FISH ..

Been a while since we had a post here. I've been very busy and just haven't gotten out. So my wife got my food friends Andrew and Stacey to take me out. We had a great day catching redfish, snook, and trout. I even took a long walk on a bar in the bay and got this nice 27" snook. Lost another snook pushing 40". Video to follow of that one. Going to make more time to get out.

get Genny in the outdoors! Nice pics kb-
I made a return visit to the driftless area of the state, which means it’s a hilly mother, to catch and release some Browns and scope out some cans. We hunted a farmers property last fall near my favorite stream and I found a rocky outcropping that the locals used as a party spot. Cans are visible for at least 100yards down a very steep half-frozen ravine. I ‘repelled’ about halfway down and found two inches deep of broken glass(8oz. Miller hand grenades mostly) with a bunch of aluminum pull tabs(one rough all aluminum bud zip and Hamms pine trees o’ course) finally got down to some steel and mostly lids were all that remained. Return trip with climbing gear is necessary.
View from the rock above the trees
View from the rock above the trees
Went and caught a couple decent 17inch brownies with no cameraman around.

Brand new $1,000,000 banquet facility in the middle of nowhere, the old one burned down, had some old Hamms cans last fall. I asked where they got ‘em and they said they had more at home and he’d bring them in. They have an awesome buffet, great after a day of fishing/dumping, so we rolled in and the bar owner points behind me to indicate he has proudly displayed his mean 70’s steelies on the beam under the old sign they salvaged from the fire. Perfect.

Did more walking looking for new water than anything. Always something new, or old and rusty, to see out in the sticks-

Bjorn,

Sometimes a walk in the woods is all it takes to recharge the soul. Throw in a few fish and some cans and you may just be on to someplace special.

I've worked hard to build my inspection business. Downside is I don't get to fish anywhere as often as I would like. But there are a few events I will always make time for. One was this weekend. The CCA, Coastal Conservation Association Sarasota Photo Release Challenge. I'm on the local board and we give everyone the lures they must use. All fish are photoed and then released. Anyway, even an old man who doesn't fish much can still get lucky and outfish some of the best anglers and captains out there. I manage to win big Redfish with a 29 1/2" fish. No one else caught one bigger than 25".

Wow, very nice Chuck!
I was UP at Ahoville for the opener, but came home a little early to get a couple hours in on the water. Lots of rain so I thought we’d try something new- a tiny creek that connects to the Rock River a couple miles downstream for some spring run midday walleyes. I lost a big fish and Spicoli(now cancer free) landed this nice 22” male. Ziphippie Bjorn

In my younger days, maybe 7 or 8 years ago. We were on a great bite and I pulled in 3 in a row in the 40 lb range. I was sore for a few days after that.

Got out for the first time in 3 months. Had a good morning. Started out with a top water trout. Made a move and got a nice snook and a baby tarpon both on top water. Had several redfish in site, but just couldn't get one to complete a Grand Slam. Maybe next time.
