@yelpster I'm thinking early 1941 based on ads and the phrase/slogan "brewed with". The slogan on your piece says "Brewed from grains and grains alone". That slogan is only found in ads from Spring 1941 to Fall 1941. By Oct 1941 the word "choicest" was added.

Here are the slogans throughout the years:
1935 - Brewed entirely from pure grains
1940 - Brewed from Nature's grains
March 1941 - Brewed from grains and grains alone
July 1941 - Brewed from grains and grains alone
Oct 1941 - Brewed from choicest grains and grains only
1942 - Brewed the true Pilsner way from choicest grains and grains only
1944 - Brewed from choicest grains and grains alone
1947 - Brewed by masters from costly beer grains and only grains
1948 - Brewed from grains and costly grains alone
1948 - Brewed the way true Pilsner should be brewed, from grains and costly grains alone

Thanks for all the info! I was thinking it was from that timeframe but not sure. I'm guessing once we entered the war metal signs were not made or greatly curtailed.

One of the Dallas folks that no longer collects had a nice version of that sign hanging in his bathroom off the kitchen. I always assumed it was from early 1942 after the US entered the war.

It is a cool sign!

I know this is not a Sterling sign but I really love all the military beer advertising. Maybe we should start a thread of just Military brewery advertising.
My father and I got this at an auction years ago. He was WW2 vet and I was 80s Army. This is one of the non Wisconsin items I have that I will never get rid of.
