5 Unpictured soda cans just dumped

#1

Post by Leon »

I dumped these 5 cans last weekend in Virginia while I was down there for a real quick business not pleasure trip. Being business I had no shovel, rake, gloves or any of the needed equipment for a successful dumping experiance. As a result I had to leave a pile of flats & possibly cones (found a crusty quart) under a layer of 60's pull tabs. I grabbed a couple of these off the top & ran leaving hundreds behind. I did not bring my Soda book & was shocked/surprise to see when I got home that none of these variations appeared in Dave Tanners Soda book. I assume all these are easy overlooked cans except maybe the Ginger Ale ZING which may be a tough one. Anybody know? Any Advise? LEON.

Leon,
Sounds like you need to get back there and save the cans.

Thanks,

Leon, The Zing is a neat can. I have a very clean Zing cola I picked up a couple of years ago for $30. It is not listed in the guide as a rare can, but it is a 1968 can and I don't believe I have seen many at all. Maybe your Ginger Ale is an R0? George

Hi Leon,
The Zing can is a good can - I do have a nice pic of one that will appear in the next guide. The Check cans are crimped - very common and I didn't include them intentionally. The Big K's are also very common and were probably an oversight.
Thanks,
Dave

those Big K ones have a real neat retro-psych look to them - a display of groovy 60s/70s cans all together would look really cool

Me & Curious George might be hitting it. I asked Steve Rhoades when I was down if he wanted to hit it or do some other dumping but he's sez to busy babysitting 3 Kids. Asked at least 3 Others since but nobody Interested. I might be going back down on another Business trip in 2 weeks. George sez he rather dump in Michigan & tired of Virginia. I'm tired of Pfeiffers & Goebels & rather dump Virginia. LEON.
