Bates Reference ID for NEHI cans

#1

Post by Pokey »

Dave, I just received my copy of Collectable Soda Cans 2007 and I love it.

I have a question about the Bates Reference IDs on the NEHI cans. Shouldn't the cans that have white & colored stripes vs. the cans that have colored & white stripes (or maybe you would call it the 3-stripe vs. the 4-stripe) have a different reference number? They seem to me to be a seperate design.

Also, do you have a list of cans that you are still needing pictures for the new release? If you could publish that list, maybe some of these Rusty-Bunchers have examples to photograph!

Hey Pokey,

I used Tom Bates classification numbers which has them together. They are, in my opinion, from the same generation - one is has lined, one has 4. They could easily be separated, but I think it would make the series even more complicated! Still not sure what to do with the gray background cans...
Thanks for the thought - always looking for upgrade info...

I will have to work on that list of cans... The number is decreasing, but there are still quite a few!
Thanks for the thoughts,
Dave

Dave,

This picture that Dan B posted in another thread has some great pictures of some Pabst 6 ounce cans:

I can take individual pictures of them when they arrive.
