Question on this group of cans

#1

Post by Rustycan »

I wanted this group only for the Shasta Club Soda (which I consider a fairly tough label) I am not that knowledgeable of the other cans in the group other than the Mountain Dew - What was it that drove this grouping to almost $90? Any thoughts?

Good Question, It sat all week with no bids. SO, Last night I bid because I wanted that Detroit lift can & what happens, I get home from work to see 6 snipers bid at last 10 seconds. Damn Snipers :smt011 :smt012 :smt013 :smt014 :smt018 :smt021 :smt022

P.S. Then the same guy had another group I wanted, I lost track of end time & forget to bid only to find out nobody tried to snipe & went dirt cheap at 12 bucks. :smt021

Rustycan - I believe I have an extra Club Soda can in better shape, I will let you know.

I am just guessing but I will say the Topp Pop imitation grape drove the sale
But the Zip is hard to find not to mention the Sun Crest.

Funny I wanted it for the Shasta Orange Drink but my snipe wasn't high enough.

I bought a nicer Suncrest off Dave T. for like 5 bucks on ebay & that grade 4 zip pretty rough, couldn't imagine them 2 adding much to price? :smt017

Guess it's not as good as I remember but still at least as nice if not better.
It's yours for $5 postage included any other Shasta cans you are looking for I have several cases of tabs and a case or 2 of different flats that I am looking to thin out.

No I don't think it would be that can I have in my collection which is pictured on my site and it would be very unusual for a Shasta in that condition to go for very much. Hence my low snipe bid I was just fishing for a canning company variation.

I agree with what has been written so far, but I think the "power" of the Mountain Dew can is usually underestimated... It's not tough or rare, but every time I put an off-grade example out, it sells for more than I would ever think. The Topp can, the Shasta od and the low cal Hawiian Punch would be my top pics. The Bireleys can is very tough with the Texas logo. I will make sure the orange drink is added - I have seen it before, but never noticed it was missing.
Happy Holidays!
