Altered Fedco can on Ebay

#1

Post by dtsoc »

Hi,
Does anyone know this seller? peddler11

He is offering a cut down 12 oz Fedco can - it says 12 oz on it and he claims it is an 8 oz....

The interesting thing is that this can matches an orange 12 oz with contents below the flavor and 12 fl ozs at the very bottom. Fedco cans are one of the most valuable soda flats... Very interesting piece, but not the original can...

Here is a pic of the orange - A believed R0 can (one of a kind)

Any thoughts?

Dave, I thought it was odd that the seller listed a zip code for the Fedco in his description, so I compared the canning line on the "8 oz" can to my Black Cherry Fedco. Take a close look at the canning info. The "8 oz" can looks like it is a zip code can and it only has three lines of canning information, but my prezip can has four lines. Have you ever seen a zip code Fedco? George

Hi George,
I am wondering if the orange is actually a zip code can as well. I think this is a new generation... I've had that orange pic for a long time - not sure where it originated. I just assumed it was a pre-zip - I was not aware of a zip code generation. I'm curious if anyone responds that may actually own it!

Very strange can. I'm thinking that it had to be cut down some time ago. I confirmed with seller that it was in fact a zip code can. :smt017 :smt017
