So who bought the Sunny Jim cans and display piece on ebay? The seller pulled the auction.

That is a sweat set of cans. Most of mine have the dog bone zips like these. These would have been some pretty good upgrades.

Wow, I would have loved to get that lot. I wonder what it went for.

The asking price was $4,600, I made an offer of a little less than half and was immediately rebuffed.

Did anyone else notice that there was a duplicate auction for a set of these that ran for a few days from a different seller? This second seller had a zero feedback rating.

Awesome set and advertising piece though!

There was a "relisting" that was supposed to happen, but that relisting was also cancelled.

Ebay will tell you roughly how much a 'best offer' sold for, if you ask right. I searched completed soda items & sorted by price. Best offer sales will sort by the offer. This listing falls between a $2695 and $2495 listings.

That is a helluva premium for those cans, even for as clean as those are. I have a couple of on-grade that i picked up for between $100-$200 each.

The Soda book prices them in $150-$300 range. Nowadays I'm not surprised to see a nice one or mint or close to mint get $500+. LEON.

The cans look pretty mint in the pic. Mint cans seem to get twice as much, some times 10 times as much as a nice clean grade 1 can. Plus they are dog bones tab intact air filled. Some would say double the price just because of that. LEON.

click pic to supersize.

I think they are the same cans. Its very hard to tell but the discoloration on the seams seem to match but not positive as the initial photos were small. Tom

I don't think they are the same cans since the High Bidder on that other group of cans already left him positive feedback. LEON.

Hello folks. First of all- happy collecting as this soda can hobby is so much fun. I bought the first set which included the cardboard advertisement. The cans are basically as mint as can be. The cream soda has couple minor imperfections and so does the lemon lime but man they are super super clean. I only had one of these in my collection ( the Dog bone Orange flavor in real nice shape) so I had to try to get these. I have seen very few on grade examples and have personally never seen several flavors in the 15 years I have been collecting old soda cans. The second round from the same seller were extremely nice but not as nice as the first set. There were 8 flavors each. In looking a the cans when I got them I noticed all 8 designs are different ( the cartoon figures are all different on the 8 flavors). Also- another thing I noticed that I cannot explain is three of the 8 flavors have what I believe are the last names of the two artists that came up with the cartoon desing on the side of the can by the canner lable. I checked out the second set on ebay and the same three flavors had the names too. So- does anyone know any more about this????? Why only three flavors and is that consistant across all the cans????? Are the ones with the designers names more rare or is that the way they wer all produced??? The flavors are: strawberry, grape and ginger ale( which is a flat top). Is it possible those three flavors were really never produced and sold in stores??? Could it be possible those three flavors of cans were only prodcued as examples and marketing?? Does anyone know??
As I mentioned I have rarely seen any of these cans let alone in great condition so I dont know.
I dont know if this seller has any more but time will tell as I am sure they will show up on Ebay. By the way- if you add up he sale price of the second set of 8 it is a about 4 hundred dollars less then I paid. Again- the condition on these cans were not quite as good as the first set( although still super nice).
I will be offering the Orange one from my collection(before the upgrade) on Sunday on the rusty bunch online show. It is the dogbone zip pull that is top opened and in really nice condition.
Please comment if anyone knows more about these cans and especially what is up with the artists names on ly on three? Thanks for reading.
Marc Austin

Looks like a few Sunny Jims sold here and I can only assume that some collectors may be missing certain flavors? I may have what you need so PM me if you are looking for a flavor. Sorry no Black Cherry's avail.
Thanks
