Pop can shows

Are there any pop can shows that occur in either Wisconsin or perhaps Minn. or Illinois?
Just wondering, as I have two different relatives that collect, at least causally, pop cans.
You know, shows like our beer shows, except focusing on pop and soda.

I’m not aware of any shows but I have several totes of sodas and would love to buy sell or trade

Soda cans are showing up more and more at the brewery shows I've noticed, when I started to re-collect cans I focused on soda cans, but now I've been buying nicer beer cans again as well, just nice clean ones, not trying to buy the most sought after cans, just cans that I've always liked and not too overly priced, of coarse if a rare can shows up and priced reasonable I'll jump on it, kinda wish there was a little more focus on soda cans at the brewery shows as well.

There hasn't been any soda can specific show for a few years now, ever since the NPCC went dormant. The NPCC used to have at least one show every year usually in the Illinois/Indiana area as those areas had the best attendance. Hopefully now that the newsletter will be published on a regular basis again (unless all the traveling I will be doing for my new job gets in the way) we can start having shows again.

We'll I'm sure this is a decision for upper management but why not have an online show here on RB?

I can bring this up at our Officer Meeting on the 11th. How many Soda/Pop collectors do you think would be interested?

I know of three for sure without asking. I can assume 5 more to include Dave Tanner but not saying they will just assuming. I also know that a lot of the cans I buy come from Beer can collectors do with that I feel comfortable we could round up a minimum of 15 attendees. I also do t know how many of the NPCC members receiving the newsletter are RB members but I think that since they are no longer paying NOCC dues it would be easy to interest them in an RB membership.

Well I know most of
The members are rolling in dough but for me spending a lot of cash before Christmas is tough. Maybe something more towards spring maybe sometime when taxes are over with or before mid March early April? Anyway, this would also give Lance a chance to advertise the show in the NPCC newsletter and try to get anyone on the distribution list who is not a member to join RB. Thoughts? Also I’m not sure of what shows are happening at that time wth the BCCA etc so I’m probably not the best person to suggest a date but whatever it is I will be there minus the baby. He’s Anoying. 😳

I agree Christmas time may not be best, it may help to advertise it on FB?. Lots of collectors there but it seems difficult to get people interested in forums now...or maybe that's just a perception I have?

If there are any Closet Soda Collectors or Soda Collectors reading this topic please respond if you would be interested in attending or even setting up a room for a possible show. That way we can get a true feel for how much interest/ non-interest there will be.

I am all in on any soda show. I live on the Illinois / Wisconsin boarder between Milwaukee and Chicago. Some nice shows (Bullfrog always has a great show) and just dropped into a show up in Delafield show put on by the Badger Bunch. And count me in on any NPCC letter. I got a few before it went defunct. Thanks. Mario Anichini

I am dependent on date and location - have a hard time getting away to midwest area, but maybe on the right weekend.

Count me in on and soda cans shows!!! I have a large collection and am actively searching for soda cans for my collection. Lately I have been getting into small variations which has opened up a whole new world. There are so many old pre zip cans that were produced in several locations by a few different can companies that have motivated me to learn as I collect.

Not that I wouldn’t want an actual soda show but my suggestion was to have an online show on RB just for sodas and we’re trying to determine who would participate in an online show. If you collect or even just closet collect and would participate in an online show please let us know. Thanks!!

Is there a Cocoa Cola collecting organization like the BCCA or RB, and if so, can a connection be made if there is a show to be put on (on-line or in-person) to get some cross-over interest? Getting even 5-10 people from another organization to join the RB or BCCA would be a "win" if it was in conjunction with a show.
Just a thought. No idea if it would even be worth it

Yes the Coca Cola Collectors Club (http://www.cocacolacollectors.club/wp/)

It's a huge club with thousands of collectors worldwide, they also organize yearly conventions, have local chapters, etc.

There are several other clubs like this for other pop related brands, etc. like Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, etc.

Wait, what? Not sure I follow. Gotta get approval first right. Then what would the process be?
