2nd Miami Cone top

#1

Post by dtsoc »

Here is the second example of the legendary Miami cone! This can verifies that there were 9 flavors produced - listed on the side! It’s a little scratched and dented, but totally solid. It was dug in 1975 in Miami and has been part of a bottle collection ever since. The ground it came out of is now covered by million dollar homes!

Oh how drool cool. I'm sure you all seen the pieces of a can that was recently listed on eBay. It appears there were unrolled sheets that were stamped out for bottoms of oil cans. Super Cool and mysterious can. Dave is it yours?

It’s mine 😊 arrived today from Florida!

Leon, where was yours found? I’m wondering if these were only sold regionally?

It's not mine but my buddy that lives near me has it & from what he said, something like was used as a fishing bobber & found in Antique store in Atlanta Georgia or something like that. Was told this story about 10 years ago. Tried to buy it from him but he don't want to sell, especially after I told him so far probably the only one known to exist. He didn't know it was so rare. Congrats on your Score Dave :smt023 LEON.

I still know where a dump near the Alabama/Florida line is that had some of the grape Miami cones in it. I brought one out with me but wound up throwing it away....That was 13 years ago and I had no knowledge of soda cans. Let me know if anyone wants to know where the dump is..

I'll pay you $100 to go get me one. That would be cheaper than me coming down there and looking for it. Then after you find it, I'll give you another $100 if its in tact and displays well. If its just a partial can and only a portion of it is displayable I will give you $40 on top on the $100. Sound like a good deal?
