Soda cans dug in Maine

#1

Post by Bob L »

Hey soda can guys....Just got back from digging in Maine and have questions on a couple soda cans I brought back.

The Upper 10 diet is rated R0 (only 1 example known) in the 2007 soda can guide, can #U80-6. Is this can really that rare? I brought back two of them.

The Franks diet root beer pictured here is not shown in the book. It is similar to the ginger ale # F580-1B, but says "diet beverage" in the box instead of "low sugar". What's the deal on that can? Undocumented variation? Or just missed it in the book. I only have the 2007 edition of the book, not the later update.

What's the story on these two cans?

Same listings in the 2nd edition, the Upper 10 an R0 and the Frank's not shown. Hopefully Dave or Brent or someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in about them. I know the earlier Sugar Free sodas are often real tough. Great finds!!

I have the other example of the Upper 10 that was shown in the book and haven't seen another. IIRC, I've only seen 2 flavors of the Frank's Low Calorie can.....they are quite scarce as you will see more of the "diet's". If you're interested in selling or trading please let me know.

I’m interested as well
I collect one flavor of rare soda can generations. Also publish Collectible Soda Cans - don't hesitate to contact me with cans you have available or questions about old soda cans.

The Franks can is sold. One of the Upper 10 cans is listed for sale on ebay and the Facebook soda can group.
