Just picked up a single example that was found in a wall in Florida during a renovation - will share pics when it arrives. It has a very cool advertising lid!

Re: 1st Gen Royal Palm Orange
Here it is - I did not realize it was a Coca Cola product. Must have been canned about the same time as the Veep cans judging by the tin weight and lids. It was also found in a building that went up in 1960, making the 1961 date in the guide about right! It has an awesome advertising lid as well!

Very nice Dave! ...congrats on the find!....now you can up date the can photo in the guide, did you know that they had vanity lids?
I was always a bit confused when someone says "Coca-Coal Product"...vs the fact it says distributed by....?...was it an actual licenced product?
Someone said Bottoms up was also a Coke product?...but my understanding is it is just bottled by one of the Coke franchises.

Wow sweet can! I love the vanity lid and the fact that it was distributed by Coca Cola makes it that much cooler.

Re: 1st Gen Royal Palm Orange
I didn't know about the vanity lids! That was a bonus!
I don't know about the licensed product question, especially in this case. It is curious as there is no other information on the can or lid... Coke was testing a lot of different products at the time, before settling on Fanta, Tab, etc. Whatever the case, there are very few of these 1st generation Royal Palm cans out there! I have been looking for this generation for years!
