Most Wanted Soda Can Guide in Ebay

#1

Post by dtsoc »

I put together a most wanted guide for cones, pre-zips and zip code soda cans. Just my opinion, but curious what you might do differently. If you're interested, check it out here: http://r.ebay.com/oGHODx

I would probably replace some of them, these are really popular cans that aren't on your list, Dr Pepper...., Donald Duck....,Holiday...., Fanta-(USA & Canada)
Maybe not the rarest or most valuable but definitely wanted!

Hi Ivan,

Thanks for the feedback. I just added two early Coke Test cans - I wasn't sure what to do with these, there is only one of each known and I don't believe they were ever made for production. The Coke multi-diamond 16 oz is another that was close to making my original list. I ended up adding a few good additions. There are a number of other test cans that could make the zip code list, particularly from Coke, but the list would end up looking like a Coke list... I am going to limit the test cans for know. The Ducks and some of the other popular cans, like the recent focus on the Holiday Inn cans, just don't meet the rarity piece for me and I don't see the prices on the Holiday Inn cans being sustainable given the numbers of these cans out there. I'll keep following them though.

Thanks again,
DT

Nice list, I like it. Only thing I would do different is try to squeeze in the older 50's FAYGO. The Root Beer is extremely tough. LEON.

Final on the Batman: $2296.09. Maybe it should be higher on the list. (I wasn't bidding for the record).

The cans above the Batman, at least the ones that have shown up on-grade, have sold at that level or higher. The ones that only exist off-grade (that have been sold in recent years) are all at the $1500+level off-grade. I'm not sure I'd change any of the top 10 at this point. The other thing about the Batman is the actual number that exist. While there are a good number of collectors interested in this can, it's been known about for years, and I would guess at least 10-15 of these exist, possible more. Most of the cans in the top 10 have populations in the 1-3 range. How much would an on-grade Big Wilt's sell for? I'd pay more than the Batman, but I don't think I would end up owning it.

I didn't think about the Faygo root beer.. probably a good candidate. Not sure where it would fit. It should probably be a $1000+ can. Let me think on this one a bit.
Thanks for the feedback!

The Hug-Jug cans are very tough to find, but there are more than a few of them in existence, more than the cans that made the lists. The zip code version may be closer than the Prezip. DT
