A Rack of Canadians

#1

Post by Tinman »

I attended a local, on site auction yesterday that advertised that it was being held for a retiring small engine repair shop which had been in business for over 40 years. Pictures on the web showed a building with numerous shelving units filled with parts and bits. I attended hoping that maybe one or two cans may have been used over the years to hold items and set aside for we collectors! Was I surprised when I saw this in a dark corner.

There are just over 60 cans, most of which are coated with oily dirt.

Once washed these twenty one will be added to my collection,
21 keepers from rack.jpg
I upgraded these three,
washed with hot water only
washed with hot water only
I'll post some more pictures when I get them cleaned up.

Thanks Ivan, I sure never thought I'd upgrade either of those.... without going to DT's book I'd guess that the three undocumented cans that you are referring to are the two Canada Dry Ginger Ale contest cans and the Mac's CS :?: I posted the 7UP....

I'll be in touch if I decide to sell the MD, I prefer to trade whenever possible. The Tabs don't seem to be cleaning up to well as the white isn't coming up.... I'll post pictures when I get them all cleaned and you can decide for yourself.

I washed up my keepers and most came up pretty good.... some of the most used ones have scratches like the RC and the back of the Old Colony. I'm still struggling with the Canada Dry GA that had the 35 year old tape on it... Any suggestions?
