Aluminum cans available for the taking.

#1

Post by Pokey »

I am about to recycle a ton of aluminum soda cans from the early to mid seventies. Is there anybody out there that wants them, before I send them to their doom? If someone wants them let me know by the end of the week. Also, please indicate how you expect to get them. These won't ship well.

I don't want them all but I will take a 6 pack of the cans with the unopened push button tops.
Let me know what you need to ship them to Detroit (zip 48336).
Thanx again

I have no idea what the shipping would be. I would have to say that many would be damaged enroute. To spend the time and money to pack them against damage makes it cost-prohibitive.

I'm not concerned with the condition of the can after shipping as I'm just into the tops. No need to pack them against damage. I would like to get at least 2 and up to 6.
Let me know if that's do-able. I'll pay the shipping.
Thanx again

I think those are a lot more interesting than the 50s soda cans (but then again - Im on a 1970s/80s food kick) - I wouldve like to have seen some spread out a little more - I would be interested in ones that really look "groovy" (think Dis-go - but doesnt necessarily have to have graphics - just wacky colors/type fonts) - or ones that are geared towards kids.....

but honestly - I think you should go over to cerealbits.com (in fact - maybe Ill make a post) - - I sold a Pepsi Light can to someone over there for like 10 bucks - and it was aluminum - or like early 1980s Hawaiian punch cans - someone sold a bunch of those over there - Id hate to see some of those wasted for the button-tops....
Im sure you will get offers of a few bucks to like 10 bucks for some of the ones I can see in your pics....

like that pink can - in the corner of the box - whats that (?) - Ill tell you what - this sort of stuff (stuff that people can relate to - not older 50s and 60s stuff..for the most part) -is getting really popular - if you go into stores - did you notice how many soda cans (and also snacks..cereal) are doing "retro" themes right now - -I actually sold a few plastic coke/pepsi bottles from the mid 80s the other week - I would be *psyched* if I looked in a dumpster and saw those soda cans.....(I see a ton more steel soda cans than aluminum ones as well) -

actually - shipping might be cost-prohibitive - but if I sent you a Whele pale ale or something like that...hmm...I wish I didnt give most of my good dumpers away.....as I would trade for old soda cans (and food) all day long......

These are back in storage for the long haul. Sorry, but I had not heard anything abslolute, so I'll let my kids deal with them in the years that follow me.
