The wild thing does it again. Lucky for Kyle there was a yellow as I'm sure someone would have passed in the last 1/4 mile or so.
Dave, gained a few more points on Jr even though he had a good car but I think he played it wrong in the last 10 laps. Still early.

Kyle wins again and stays on top. 2 Craftsman truck wins, 3 Nationwide wins and 3 Sprint cup wins. I think this shows that he is the class of NASCAR so far in 08.

What a race. Lap 501 was really something. How many times the rest of the season are the drivers of the 99 and the 18 going to be called to the NASCAR trailer? About time we had a little color back in the sport. Rusty and Earnhardt Sr. were always fun with their squabbles. NASCAR has gotten so vanilla that I do not watch the entire race as I did in the past. Just seems they want to gear it to the wine and cheese gang, which may work for a short time until that crowd finds the "next" big thing. Then NASCAR is going to have to get back the fans that know the sport. Good luck.

Who says the drivers don't have long memories. I thought the post-race interview with Carl Edwards was great. The run to the Cup should be VERY interesting...

Not athletes? Ever drive a race car? I did for 7 years. You have to wear a driving suit, flame retardant undergarments (which are like wearing thermals gloves & helmet to get in a car on a 100 degree day and then concentrate to the 10th degree on hitting your lines and wringing everything you can out of the car without hitting the wall coming off or while "getting in" while keeping track of the cars around you doing the same 100mph + speeds lap after lap after lap. During green flag, you really don't notice the heat but, during a yellow you take notice quick how hot it is in the car & how hot you are. Red flag, forget it. Feels like you're sitting in an oven on slow bake. There's alot going mentally when you're racing - strategizing, proper adjustments, keeping your eyes way out ahead, etc etc. There were times I'd get out of the car and just have to sit for a few minutes because I was completely drained. Granted, the cool helmets the cup guys run today helps a ton. If your car ain't handling, you're up on the wheel hustling that thing. Most times the car isn't handling - it's a razor sharp fine line between loose & tight. Are they football players or marathon runners? No. Athletes? I think so.
