Undocumented USBC Supplement Set-up at the Spring Thaw
Mr. Jim Wolf will be at the Spring Thaw to continue in is relentless effort to document beer cans to be entered into the USBC database for this great hobby and he is bringing the camera setup to Spring Thaw. They are looking for pictures of cans that are not in the book, that are upgrades for cans in the book, and when the can pictures is not the one described in the documentation.
Please rummage through those cans that you've always wanted to get exposed but just never had that chance......this will be a great opportunity so please take advantage of it.......

Re: Undocumented USBC Supplement Set-up at the Spring Thaw
Will someone ask Mr. Wolf for details about his setup to photograph cans, and then post his information here? We'd all love to know how to take great shots of our cans and would appreciate picking the brains of a good photographer for ideas on how to do that.

I forget exactly where it can be found (probably here or in the BCCA mag), but Bruce Gregg has given details on taking can photos.
It all depends on whether you're buying or selling.

Re: Undocumented USBC Supplement Set-up at the Spring Thaw
Do we know what sort of boundaries Jim is working within as? I'm specifically interested in knowing if he's after the following:
- Major back panel variations on instructionals
- Alcohol content variations on cones
Thanks,
Marc

Re: Undocumented USBC Supplement Set-up at the Spring Thaw
Hey all,
I may be sticking my neck out here (not for the first time) but here's the deal.
Please go to the BCCA website, log in, and see if your previously unpictured can has been added to the supplement.
FLATS AND CONES: We have added a bunch, so please look.
TABS: We have just started, and have only added two. So, YOOPER AHO, BRING IT ON!
If in doubt, bring the can, I'll shoot it, and we'll figure it out later.
OK Guys, here's the deal. Over the coming years, we plan to replace ALL the single images with the 5 image setup.
FRONT, RIGHT SIDE, BACK, LEFT SIDE, TOP.
Check the supplement, look for added cans, (outlined in red), and you'll see what we're shooting for.
So, in the grand scheme of things, if you have something obscure, I'll shoot it. We will need it now or later.
Didn't know this would turn in to my full time job in retirement......
For those of you making the trip to the Spring Thaw, I plan to be set up all day Friday.
Will post my room # at the hospitality room.

No bottoms?
At least for flat vs concave, "Strong" or "Bock" wording, etc. I'm not understanding the reasoning here.

Re: Undocumented USBC Supplement Set-up at the Spring Thaw
At this time, the programming and format is 5 images. I have taken a few bottoms (flat bottom cones, BOCK on bottom, etc., but am holding those in an image file as documentation. We can post this info in the caption and a new comments field. But I don't see us going beyond 5 images.
