Gibbons Bock

Post by rbtemplar »

I'm curious, are there many off grade examples of this can out there? If so would anyone want to share a picture? I've yet to either see an example of one in an article or appear for sale.

Thanks

Is this what you're asking about? Gibbons Bock sold at Morphy's Auction of the Grenke Collection back in 2012. It was item #551 and sold for $35,400.00.

Thanks, but no. That is basically the only image that comes up when you search for the can. I'm talking about other, more off grade examples.

I know Dave Lang dumped one in NH and so did the late Don Raymond. When Dave stepped down as editor of his Beer Can Archaeology column he wrote a final story about his three favorite dumping finds (Esslinger Bock quart, Gibbons Bock cone top and White Cap cone top). Maybe someone who can access the BMV can pull up the article with pictures.
Thanks. Dave

August 2015.....I've never been able to get BMV to work for me consistently, but I'm an outlier....others have done better with it.

There are two dumpers that I know of. Dave Lang dumped one and I have seen the second one in Jim's collection. Someday someone will pull a couple out of the ground in New Hampshire, or Vermont.
