Local Finds

#1

Post by piperjj »

Some of the better stuff I've found in the area around my home in Evergreen, Colorado. I did have one more Tivoli can, and another All-American, but those are gone. Also, there was a badly rusted Blatz Ale cone that I found laying on a hillside - also now gone (someday I'll learn). The badly rusted/dented can on the upper right is a Tivoli Bock. And, of course, more Coors cans than you can stick a shake at.

@piperjj Nice job. From what I hear you live in a good area to find some cool stuff. Keep the pictures of your finds coming!

Nice stuff. That All American is pretty sweet. Some nice color on the Buds an Tivoli's. I am plagued by the Coors epidemic here in southern New Mexico also. At least yours have color. Keep them coming.

Hey, thanks for the comments, guys, and to Jay - yea, it's definitely an epidemic! I'm always happy to find something that's NOT Coors!

A couple more recent finds, both just a stone's throw from where I live. Both were surface finds, hence the lousy condition. Based on these finds, I'm pretty sure that, given permission, a dig of some of the old outhouse/well holes (I'm not sure which they are) in the local Denver Mountain Parks would yield a plethora of great finds. The problem?: getting permission from that agency. Anyone have any connections in the City and County of Denver (government)?

Anyway, the pix: An early (near as I can tell) 1950's PBR, and a late 30's/early 40's Pabst Old Tankard. That's as well as the Old Tankard will get. The other side (the main logo) is completely gone. The only reason I picked it up is because I spotted the vague "KEGLINED", and knew I had something special.

Some more recent finds. The Tivoli Bock was one of those "OMG" finds; such vivid colors, for a "surface" can. The Tivoli "Of Malt and Men" was a nice surprise, as I had never encountered that one before.

Another "KEGLINED - IRTP" can, Coors, from the same area as the Old Tankard find. The little hieroglyph symbol (per the info on breweriana.com) indicates the flat was printed in 1947. Unfortunately, like most surface finds in this area, the rest of the can was toast.
