Here are all the cans from my find that was detailed in Beer Cans and Brewery Collectibles Oct/Nov 2011 issue. I hope everyone in the hobby has one someday. It was a beautiful day...

thats a neat collection of cans.. my guess is the guy bought them and drank them himself sometime back in the 50s just guessing on some NY cans I can figure out.. but then there are few "currents" on the bottomw right side.. are they all been dranken by same guy? Like is the Simon Pure a flat or bank? I like seeing how many pairs there are - some together and otheres randomly placed any where... back to NY , he has the metalic UC Pale Cream ALe but not the matchinng beer rather the Schultz and Dooley UC BEER, along with the UC BOCK STein goat.. prolly UC still had their slag PALE ALES Cans still around and kept trying to sell in the newer day of BEER over Ale.. do you still have these, like are the 2 FRankenmuths from Buffalo? Thats a nice collection of Rheingolds - white Beer , Scotch Ale , ALe and CREAM ALE- wow!! Theres a green Tudor Ale, but no Red BEER- thats a 1st.. like seeing a few Labels that changed over the yrs, like the Krugers and Red Caps.. but yeah what the story on this find?? nice job

I dont have old BCCA mags, so...... deets

You're on the right track...a friend of mine knew a guy that mentioned he had some old beer cans and it was just a matter of following up on the lead. It took a "well-motivated-to-sell" girlfriend and several weeks of conversations before we saw the cans. They were planning on moving and that helped his decision to sell, too. They say timing is everything and it was certainly true in this case. My family was returning from a white water rafting trip in Maine and we were travelling south towards northern Massachusetts when I decided to call the guy. He happened to be home and not busy so he said to come over. Two carloads of my family (they know my obsession well) eventually found the house and with the girlfriend's urging, we went up to the third floor. Five cases were already in the kitchen so I grabbed those and started going through them while my brother helped him get the other five cases down from his attic. There were some good cans in the top cases but when I pulled out the third case, I saw the Germantown upside down and couldn't believe it. My brother, now going through the other cases, pulled out the white Rheingold Cream Ale and said "This one looks odd!" We negotiated and, with the help of his girlfriend (who by now you've noticed wanted the cans gone) walked out with 246 cans. All flats except for about 20 tabs and only two cans were the same. The majority were bottom opened so I think they did come from a collector. The guy said he got them from an old timer for some work he had done and he just saved them in his attic. We added 50 cans and over 80 upgrades to the shelves. The last thing the guy said to us was "If you hadn't called back those few times, I probably would've thrown them in the trash."

The Upside Germantown wouldn't still be available would it? I have 2 different Germantown Cone tops to keep it company.

WOW! I just read this thread. What an amazing collection! I assume you got them pretty cheap since he was a non-collector. My beer can dreams would be filled in that one find. A small fortune right there.
