Oxalic acid Crowntainer soak

#1

Post by Cantageous »

I bought this Trenton with the notion that I would try and clean it up. I debated using Metal Rescue or Evaporust but settled on Oxalic

The can looked as if it had never been cleaned but did look as if it had been bathed in WD40 or another oil.

I started out soaking the can in degreaser and hot water for a couple hours. After that. I placed it in a jar with warm water and a small scoop of acid. I stopped measuring a long time ago. No one eats my chili but me. Hahaha

Anyway. Here are some pics

I'm gonna watch it for a while. My experience tells me that oil will retard the effectiveness of the Oxalic. But, to be honest, I'm wrong a lot so don't listen to anything I say, especially if there is money involved.

Be back soon
