This is my first shot at a composite list of cans produced by G. Krueger brewing of Newark, NJ. Certainly would welcome additonal entries, particulary when accompanied by photographs.
Intent is to someday have an NJ composite including tabs. Ballantine is clearly the 600 pound gorilla in that particular room.

Re: G. Krueger Brewing composite list
That is a fantastic list Al! I'm PMing you with a few questions, then we'll get it posted. Again, great work!

Re: Krueger Discussion Thread
Since Al is the original author of this list, he has the final say as to what is listed and what is not listed. When I compiled the CO list, I chose to list only cans that were sold off a liquor store shelf. No test cans. It's quite possible that Al is using the same criteria.

Re: Krueger Discussion Thread
Your pics are perfect for showing the variations, Scott. Thanks for the contributions. As soon as I hear from Al, we'll work out the next update.

Re: Krueger Discussion Thread
nc sodapopkid,
Thanks for all the information. It took me a long time to come up with the original list, so it will be a while before I can do a proper update.
To address some of the questions - I knew about the "CANCO" vs. CANCO variation on the hatted Krueger's Beer. I suspected but had not seen the variation for the ale cans. Those I am definitely going to add.
I am not going to add the Krueger's Special until someone shows me a real example of the can. My theory on these is that they were probably consumed at the brewery and then collected and discarded after the taste test was complete. They are probably buried under Giants Stadium right next to Jimmy Hoffa...
Regarding color variations - I am most likely going to be a strict grader when it comes to these. I believe that a lot of color variations are due to natural printing variations during the run of cans and due to exposure to the elements (and our cleaning methods) that occured after the can was printed/filled. If there is additional evidence - Can company is different, Canning Code is different, something different in the small print - and the color variation is consistent with the additional evidence, I will add the variation.
Regarding quarts - I am out of my element here. I have a few Krueger quarts but have not really chased them seriously at this time. Definitely going to need some help with quarts.
Finally, I am going to want to get photographs of any variations that are not in the BCCA Flat top and cone top book so they can be included in the online update.
