Steve - what's the silver compound you used? I've got a few favorites with holes I'd like to get rid of.

Re: 1st try at repairing a hole in a can
Instead of using a silver compound, try using a compound of pulverized rust and Elmers wood glue. When you get the hang of it, it's almost undetectable on small holes. It can really improve the look and feel of an otherwise nice dumper that has a small annoying hole in it. The silver is kinda obnoxious.

Do you guys consider it "touched up" if you paint over the compound that you use to fill a hole?
