I know this is not a beer can...but was not sure whether to post here or the soda section, sorry  I took some unconventional photos of the side to try and show the dents. I searched this section but did not find anything on repairing this type of can :smt102 Any expert advice I gladly welcome! :smt006

The crimped sides are challenging, but I think you can get the can fairly straight. I'd grind off the top lid since it's the one that's dented. Use a cut off wheel on a dremel and grind until you see the "line" appear. Refer to the Can repair from the inside out thread (Can Repair forum) to see what the "line" is. Once removed, a Bramlette Bender would work well to smooth out the dents & round out the top rim. Get the removed lid round again & tap it back on.

Be sure to use a cutoff wheel and not a grinding wheel. The aluminum will clog on the grinding wheel. And practice on a junk can to get the feel for grinding the lid off.

Good luck!

Thank you Scott and bantam10.....That's amazing what can be done with some of those cans  ....I need to go out and get a dremel kit!, I think I'll find some test cans first so I can play around and get the hang of removing tops first. The Bramlette Bender gives me an idea, maybe I can make up some differnt types to smooth out the dents leaving the top on?..the challenge will be getting the top back into round ;)

Since the top lid is aluminum, it'll be easy to work back to round & flat. If you buy a Dremel kit, it should have some cut off wheels included.
